Adopt CHARLIE

Mixed Breed · Male · Senior · 10 years

CHARLIE is looking for a heart that will love him forever! Charlie... that's a name full of great love and hope. This wonderful dog is about 8-10 years old and has gone through many difficult times, but despite that, he hasn't lost his faith in people. When he was found, he had a seriously injured paw, which had to be operated on and a plate inserted. He recovered slowly, but thanks to the careful care of the veterinarians, the plate was removed and now Charlie functions without problems. Sometimes he places his paw slightly crooked, but it doesn't affect his daily life at all. Charlie is the embodiment of gentleness and kindness. He tolerates other dogs, although he will best find his home with a calm female dog - together they will create the perfect duet. He can walk on a leash, so he will certainly become your faithful companion. The description is based on the observation of the dog in the animal shelter. Charlie is under the care of OTOZ Animals animal shelter in Tczew. Shelter identification number: 105/24 Male is vaccinated, microchipped, dewormed, and neutered. Weight category:

CHARLIE szuka serca, które pokocha go na zawsze! Charlie… to imię kryjące w sobie ogrom miłości i nadziei. Ten cudowny psiak ma około 8-10 lat i przeszedł przez wiele trudnych chwil, ale mimo to nie stracił wiary w ludzi. Kiedy go znaleziono, miał poważnie uszkodzoną łapkę, którą trzeba było operować i wstawić blaszkę. Charlie to uosobienie łagodności i czułości. About CHARLIE

What life with CHARLIE looks like

CHARLIE is a large senior mixed breed dog waiting at OTOZ Animals — Schronisko w Tczewie in Poland.

Senior dogs settle in faster than younger ones. They want a soft bed, predictable meals, and short, sniff-heavy walks rather than runs. Many senior rescues bond deeply within weeks because they understand exactly how good a stable home is. Expect occasional vet visits for joint or dental care.

🇵🇱Adopting from Poland

Polish shelters maintain established transport routes to Germany, Netherlands, Austria, and Sweden. Animals leave sterilized and chipped. Adoption fees are typically lower than in Western Europe (often €50–€150) but adopters cover transport.

Frequently asked

Adopting CHARLIE, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about CHARLIE?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. OTOZ Animals — Schronisko w Tczewie handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw CHARLIE on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt CHARLIE if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — OTOZ Animals — Schronisko w Tczewie will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is CHARLIE already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if CHARLIE isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with OTOZ Animals — Schronisko w Tczewie early rather than rehoming privately; they know CHARLIE and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (PL). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
