Cheezy

English Bulldog · Male · Young · 3 years

Steckbrief Name: Cheezy Breed: American Bulldog-German Shepherd-Mix Features: Highly people-oriented, cuddly, eager to learn, traumatized by previous dog encounters. We specifically ask that you contact us via the contact form or email when considering adopting Cheezy. We cannot provide information over the phone! Adopt me! Home sought for Cheezy (American Bulldog–German Shepherd-Mix, 3 years old) Cheezy is an imposing, approximately 3-year-old male dog with a soft, loyal heart. This American Bulldog–German Shepherd-Mix, weighing around 45–50 kg, is on the lookout for a new, safe home – with people who value him for his character rather than his size. Cheezy is an absolute people dog. He loves closeness, physical contact, and cuddles – preferably 24/7. At home, he is quiet, balanced, barks little, and shows himself to be a very pleasant roommate. He is comfortable being alone, is house-trained, and can easily adapt to the daily routine. But he also brings a story: As a puppy, he was bitten, and later lived for almost a year largely separated from another dog in an apartment. These formative experiences have made Cheezy anxious and insecure in contact with other dogs. Therefore, we would like to place him exclusively as a single dog – without other dogs or cats in the household. Cheezy is intelligent, curious, and motivated. Within a short time, he has learned to respond to commands like "sit," "stay," "come," "stay," and "wait." He loves walks and sniffing – they are the key to exploring the world beyond his current boundaries. We are looking for experienced, confident owners who can offer patience, clarity, and security. A home without children, without other animals, with time for mental stimulation, and the willingness for further training (e.g., dog training classes) would be ideal. A neutering should also be planned in the future. Cheezy is an absolutely lovable dog who blossoms in the right environment. Those who give him the necessary stability, clear structures, and genuine affection will receive a deeply bonded, grateful, and very loyal companion. Cheezy in summary: – Male dog, approximately 3 years old – American Bulldog–German Shepherd-Mix – Weighing around 45–50 kg – Not neutered – House-trained, comfortable being alone – People-oriented, quiet at home – Loves cuddles and closeness – Eager to learn, knows basic commands – Traumatized by previous dog encounters – Not compatible with dogs or cats – Seeks dog-experienced people with clear, safe leadership – Ideal: Single person or couple without children, with time and patience Important note: Cheezy is currently still living with his owners and will be rehomed as part of our placement assistance. If you are interested, please contact us exclusively via our contact form or email. We regret that we cannot provide information over the phone!

About Cheezy

What life with Cheezy looks like

Cheezy is a medium-sized young adult english bulldog dog waiting at Tierschutz Eutin und Umgebung e.V. in Eutin.

An young adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. Two reasonable walks a day plus play time is usually enough. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting Cheezy, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Cheezy?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Tierschutz Eutin und Umgebung e.V. handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Cheezy on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Cheezy if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Tierschutz Eutin und Umgebung e.V. will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Cheezy already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Cheezy isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Tierschutz Eutin und Umgebung e.V. early rather than rehoming privately; they know Cheezy and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
