Cherry

Mixed Breed Cat Β· Female Β· Young Β· 3 years

🌸 After spending her life sharing everything, Cherry is ready to be someone’s one and only. 🌸 Meet beautiful Cherry, a 3-year-old girl who came into the care of RSPCA Bluebell Ridge from a large multi-cat household. Sadly, Cherry had spent much of her young life caught up in a cycle of repeated breeding. She had already had numerous litters before she was rescued and finally given the chance to be spayed and start a new chapter of her life. πŸ’— When Cherry first arrived with us, she was understandably very shy. But once she had some time to settle and realise that she was safe, something wonderful happened… Cherry began to come out of her shell. πŸ₯Ή Now, this sweet girl really enjoys a fuss and is showing us more and more of her lovely personality every day. After spending so long having to share her space, her resources and the limelight with so many other cats, Cherry has decided that she’s had quite enough of that, thank you very much! πŸ˜‚ She would love a home where she can be the centre of attention β€” her very own family, all to herself. ❀️ Cherry would prefer to be the only pet in her new home, but she could live with secondary school-aged children. What Cherry needs now isn’t anything complicated. She needs a warm bed.She needs someone to adore her.She needs a quiet, loving home where she can finally relax and enjoy being someone’s special girl. Most of all, after everything she has been through, Cherry deserves to discover what it feels like to simply be loved. πŸ‘πŸ’• Could you be the person to give this sweet girl the forever home she’s been waiting for? 🌸 Give Cherry her chance to shine. 🌸 Scroll through the gallery of images above or click to open Not ready to adopt? About Cherry

What life with Cherry looks like

Cherry is a large young adult mixed breed cat cat waiting at RSPCA Brighton & The Heart of Sussex in United Kingdom.

An adult cat usually shows their personality within a week. Give them a quiet room with everything they need (food, water, litter, hiding spot) and let them choose when to explore. Don't force interaction β€” every cat decides for themselves when a new home counts as home.

πŸ‡¬πŸ‡§Adopting from United Kingdom

UK shelters work under the Pet Travel Scheme (post-Brexit, the EU pet passport is not valid; a UK Animal Health Certificate is required for travel into the EU). Most UK rescues focus on domestic placements but some work with EU partners.

Frequently asked

Adopting Cherry, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Cherry?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. RSPCA Brighton & The Heart of Sussex handles screening and the adoption contract directly β€” TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Cherry on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Cherry if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad β€” RSPCA Brighton & The Heart of Sussex will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. UK adopters: post-Brexit travel into the EU requires an Animal Health Certificate. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Cherry already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most cats on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported β€” ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Cherry isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work β€” that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with RSPCA Brighton & The Heart of Sussex early rather than rehoming privately; they know Cherry and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (EN). Translation is imperfect β€” names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
