Cherry

Mixed Breed Cat · Female · Young · 2 years

Hi friends! I'm Cherry and it's very nice to meet you! I'm am now having some fun time in foster care.I haven't been at the centre for very long but I am ready and raring to get my paws into a fun loving home. I'm small in size but oh so big in character and am such an affectionate girl. I do like to have a little chat and will meow at you to say hello when you get home. I love to have a fuss and a cuddle and have discovered my passion for all things dreamies so these will need to be in plentiful supply at my new home! Sometimes loud noises can frighten me so settling into a new home might be a little overwhelming initially, so I would prefer a home with older sensible children. I may possibly be able to live with cats with a similar character to myself and they can help show me the world and all their favourite toys! Unfortunately I cannot share my home with any dogs. If you think I could be the girl for you, please get in touch with my people here at the centre and they can tell you more about me. About Cherry

What life with Cherry looks like

Cherry is a large young adult mixed breed cat cat waiting at National Animal Welfare Trust in Watford.

An adult cat usually shows their personality within a week. Give them a quiet room with everything they need (food, water, litter, hiding spot) and let them choose when to explore. Don't force interaction — every cat decides for themselves when a new home counts as home.

🇬🇧Adopting from United Kingdom

UK shelters work under the Pet Travel Scheme (post-Brexit, the EU pet passport is not valid; a UK Animal Health Certificate is required for travel into the EU). Most UK rescues focus on domestic placements but some work with EU partners.

Frequently asked

Adopting Cherry, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Cherry?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. National Animal Welfare Trust handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Cherry on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Cherry if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — National Animal Welfare Trust will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. UK adopters: post-Brexit travel into the EU requires an Animal Health Certificate. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Cherry already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most cats on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Cherry isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with National Animal Welfare Trust early rather than rehoming privately; they know Cherry and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (EN). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
