adoption requirements adoption process Now request this animal! adoption requirements adoption process Now request this dog! Chettu has found a home! His story: A whole litter of puppies is waiting in a private foster home in Baia Mare to leave Romania as soon as possible and begin a new, better life. Six beautiful siblings – Chettu, Vin, Bommel, Emily, Alana, and Tilia – live here at the shelter and all need urgent support as they start a new life, because they shouldn't grow up in cages. Therefore, we have vowed not to rest until we know the dogs are safe and have found a place with loving people who will care for and love them and show them how wonderful life as a family dog can be. The cute Chettu is just like his siblings, a little fighter who has grown into a lively and healthy puppy. He is friendly and open and a typical playful, little male puppy. He loves playing with his siblings. Chettu has soft, brown-black spotted fur with small white patches on his chin and paws. Out of black, shiny round eyes, he looks hopefully into his future. The little puppy is only about three months old and will likely develop into a beautiful, medium-sized dog. The handsome little guy has no experience with life as a house dog and knows little about house training and leash walking. But with lots of love, patience, and training, he will hopefully quickly learn the entire puppy 1×1. After the adjustment period, Chettu will be happy to visit a positively working dog training class. In a few months, Chettu will then enter puberty, which may undo everything he has learned so far. Especially during this time, loving but consistent training is needed to support his development into a well-mannered and confident young male dog. We are very happy that Chettu and his siblings have developed so well and now wish for animal-friendly people who will take him in with love and patience, give him a family connection, a warm dog bed, beautiful walks, and – very important for a puppy – enough contact with fellow animals. We would also be very happy about a foster home for the little puppy. Our thanks go to the namesake Ker W., who gave Chettu his name! As of: 06.02. This animal is vaccinated. This animal is microchipped.

Vermittlungsvoraussetzungen Vermittlungsablauf Jetzt dieses Tier anfragen! Vermittlungsvoraussetzungen Vermittlungsablauf Jetzt diesen Hund anfragen! Stand: 06.02.2026

About Chettu

What life with Chettu looks like

Chettu is a medium-sized puppy/kitten mixed breed dog waiting at Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. in München.

Puppies need routine, gentle socialization, and roughly two short outings a day for the first year. The first six months are the formative window — house-training, leash work, and quiet exposure to traffic, other dogs, and unfamiliar people happen now or not at all. Expect early-morning wake-ups and a few months of chewing.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting Chettu, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Chettu?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Chettu on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Chettu if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Chettu already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Chettu isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. early rather than rehoming privately; they know Chettu and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
