Chiara

Mixed Breed · Female · Puppy · 4 months

May 29, 2026: Chiara was allowed to travel to her German foster home. June 11, 2026: Chiara has settled in her foster home remarkably quickly. She gets along excellently with the older female dog living there and shows herself to be an incredibly open, lovable, and affectionate young female dog. Chiara is very people-oriented and actively seeks the closeness of her trusted people. She thoroughly enjoys cuddles and bonding time and quickly forms a close bond with her humans. At the same time, she adapts very well to new situations – even though she hasn’t had the opportunity to learn much in her previous life. During walks, she shows curiosity and interest, is happy to go on exploration tours, but always remains approachable and not reckless. Walking on the leash works surprisingly well and is becoming more secure every day. A typical young puppy brings Chiara a playful exuberance and a bit of mischief, but she is very clever, attentive, and eager to learn. She quickly understands new things and works enthusiastically. House training is already going well, and she already understands and implements basic commands like “sit” and “stay.” In interactions with other dogs, she is absolutely social and uncomplicated. Overall, Chiara is a true rough diamond with great potential for development – ready to learn and grow further. She is the perfect companion for active people who like to be outdoors and wish to have a young dog with heart, charm, and a lot of potential by their side. Chiara is now only looking for her people who will welcome her with open arms and want to go through life with her. If you are currently on the lookout for a new furry family member and are aware that adoption brings not only great joy but also a lot of work and great responsibility, we look forward to your message. We provide foster homes nationwide.

About Chiara

What life with Chiara looks like

Chiara is a large puppy/kitten mixed breed dog waiting at ProTier e.V. in Germany.

Puppies need routine, gentle socialization, and roughly two short outings a day for the first year. The first six months are the formative window — house-training, leash work, and quiet exposure to traffic, other dogs, and unfamiliar people happen now or not at all. Expect early-morning wake-ups and a few months of chewing.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting Chiara, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Chiara?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. ProTier e.V. handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Chiara on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Chiara if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — ProTier e.V. will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Chiara already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Chiara isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with ProTier e.V. early rather than rehoming privately; they know Chiara and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
