During dog encounters, he tends to bully male dogs, but generally gets along with female dogs of his caliber. Chicko does not like to be pressured and it is not out of the question that this inherently people-friendly male dog might defend his resources. Consistent behavior, paired with calm confidence and loving empathy, is required. Chicko is not suitable for a puppy or a family with children. Typically sensitive for a German Shepherd, the shelter stress affects him. However, Chicko is very smart, trainable, and eager to learn. His respect must be earned, and he wants to be challenged and meaningfully occupied. Der stattliche Schäferhundmischling Chicko sucht ein hundeerfahrenes Zuhause. Er zeigt guten Grundgehorsam, hat aber sehr viel Kraft. Bei Hundebegegnungen neigt er Rüden gegenüber zum Pöbeln, mit Hündinnen seines Kalibers kommt er in der Regel zurecht. Chicko mag es nicht, bedrängt zu werden, und es ist nicht auszuschließen, dass der an sich menschenfreundliche Rüde dazu neigt, seine Ressourcen zu verteidigen. Hier sind konsequentes Auftreten, gepaart mit gelassener Ruhe und liebevollem Einfühlungsvermögen gefragt. Für Hundeneulinge oder eine Familie mit Kindern ist Chicko nicht geeignet.
