Chico

Mixed Breed · Female · Young · 1 year

Chico is a smart, energetic Puli boy, born around April 2025 and weighing roughly 9–10 kg. He’s very people-oriented and becomes incredibly attached to the humans he trusts, he loves cuddles and is more than happy to be picked up and carried around. He has lived with other dogs before, although he can sometimes be reactive, so introductions should be thoughtful and gradual. He can also be wary of strangers and needs a little time to feel comfortable with new people. Chico is clever, active and full of personality. His ideal family will enjoy keeping both his body and his busy Puli brain occupied, while also appreciating his very cuddly, loyal side. ❤️ Experience with high energy dogs and patience Spayed/Neutered: Yes Vaccinated: Yes Gender: Male Dogs: Needs slow introduction Cats: No Kids: No Current Situation: Currently in a foster home and looking for a loving foster home or forever family

About Chico

What life with Chico looks like

Chico is a young adult mixed breed dog waiting at FAPF Hungary in Hungary.

A young adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. Two reasonable walks a day plus play time is usually enough. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

🇭🇺Adopting from Hungary

Hungarian shelters operate at high capacity given the country's stray population. Animals leave sterilized, chipped, and with a passport. Many shelters coordinate transport to Germany, Austria, and the Nordics.

Frequently asked

Adopting Chico, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Chico?: Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. FAPF Hungary handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Chico on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Chico if I live in another country?: Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — FAPF Hungary will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Transport is usually a separate cost, so ask for the exact figure before you commit.
Is Chico already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?: Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Chico isn't the right fit?: Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with FAPF Hungary early rather than rehoming privately; they know Chico and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?: TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (EN). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
