Adopt Chicota und Clio

Female · Baby · 10 months

Chicota und Clio were born with us at the animal shelter. Unfortunately, they are still a bit shy, which is why there have been few interested parties for them so far. Rabbits are simply not what one would call "pettable" animals. Much nicer is it to observe the animals. Chicota und Clio get along wonderfully and would like to move into a new, species-appropriate life together. If you are interested in the two nice ladies, we look forward to an email from you. We would also be happy to receive photos of the accommodation for your rabbits. We do not provide caging for our vermin. Information and tips about species-appropriate rabbit care can be found on websites such as www.diebrain.de or www.kaninchenwiese.de.

About Chicota und Clio

What life with Chicota und Clio looks like

Chicota und Clio is a puppy/kitten rabbit waiting at Tierheim Bergheim in Bergheim.

Rabbits are social animals — most shelters recommend adopting them in bonded pairs rather than alone. They need fresh hay daily, several hours of out-of-cage time, and rabbit-safe spaces to explore. They live eight to twelve years, longer than many people expect.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting Chicota und Clio, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Chicota und Clio?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Tierheim Bergheim handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Chicota und Clio on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Chicota und Clio if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Tierheim Bergheim will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Chicota und Clio already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most rabbits on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Chicota und Clio isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Tierheim Bergheim early rather than rehoming privately; they know Chicota und Clio and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
