Chili

Pomeranian Β· Male Β· Senior Β· 10 years

Chili is a mild-mannered Pomeranian Cross who is looking for calm home to relax in. He is based at Battersea Old Windsor. Chili is spending some time in a temporary foster home and has settled in well. He has been house trained in foster and likes exploring the garden. Chili is looking to be the dog in his new home. He is independent when passing other dogs but can pester some dogs when off the lead. His new owners will just need to manage him on walks and continue with any training put in place. Chili enjoys his food and will take any treat offered to him. He knows a β€œspin” and is willing to learn. Chili doesn’t have any teeth so is just eating soft food whilst his gums recover. He needs a little support when visiting the vets as he can find this worrying. He has been training to wear a muzzle for when he may need to visit the vets, and he has been doing really well with this. Chili will make a delightful new companion for his new owner. About Chili

What life with Chili looks like

Chili is a senior pomeranian dog waiting at Battersea Dogs & Cats Home in London.

Senior dogs settle in faster than younger ones. They want a soft bed, predictable meals, and short, sniff-heavy walks rather than runs. Many senior rescues bond deeply within weeks because they understand exactly how good a stable home is. Expect occasional vet visits for joint or dental care.

πŸ‡¬πŸ‡§Adopting from United Kingdom

UK shelters work under the Pet Travel Scheme (post-Brexit, the EU pet passport is not valid; a UK Animal Health Certificate is required for travel into the EU). Most UK rescues focus on domestic placements but some work with EU partners.

Frequently asked

Adopting Chili, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Chili?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Battersea Dogs & Cats Home handles screening and the adoption contract directly β€” TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Chili on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Chili if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad β€” Battersea Dogs & Cats Home will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. UK adopters: post-Brexit travel into the EU requires an Animal Health Certificate. Transport is usually a separate cost, so ask for the exact figure before you commit.
Is Chili already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported β€” ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Chili isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work β€” that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Battersea Dogs & Cats Home early rather than rehoming privately; they know Chili and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (EN). Translation is imperfect β€” names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
