Adopt Chipiron

Mixed Breed · Male

Chipiron is in the house and in the garden. The just one-year-old handsome neutered male dog has been in a foster home in Germany since 03/22. There he lives with a family with children and two other dogs. The stylishly confident Galgo-Mix Gentleman wears the proven tailcoat with a white shirt. He loves belly rubs, sunbathing, and nothing pleases him more than when someone tells him how beautiful and kind a dog he is. Chipiron has already become accustomed to daily life in a family, walks, regular cuddles, and following rules, which are no longer foreign to him. He is very people-oriented and enjoys every single cuddle. He feels especially drawn to children and would like to stay in the playroom all the time and join in for cuddling. You should have a sense of humor, as he sometimes has a lot of fun playing and running around, and it's always very amusing to see him jumping and leaping around. Of course, he sometimes still has some mischief in mind and likes to steal the slippers or shoes and put them somewhere else. Chipiron obviously needs rules as a young dog, what he is allowed to do and what he isn't. He shows himself relatively quick to learn and accepts a simple "Good" or "No." During long walks, he is well-behaved on a leash. He is not timid towards his environment, passing cars, joggers or cyclists don't disturb him. The neutered male dog can now be alone at home for 3-4 hours and is house-trained. Chipiron likes to lie in his dog bed in front of the heater during the home office and enjoys the time with people without demanding anything, but with a certain gratitude for attention. Towards the dogs in the foster home, he is friendly and open. He would also make an excellent second dog. Cats should not be present in the household. Who wants to show this great, agile and loyal friend the world? He wants to finally meet his own people. He wants to find his own place in a family and be the loyal friend with whom you can go through thick and thin. If you are that person/family, please contact under the mentioned contact address.

Chipiron is in the house and in the garden.

About Chipiron

What life with Chipiron looks like

Chipiron is a adult mixed breed dog waiting at Tierschutzverein ARCA e.V. in Gernsbach.

An adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. Two reasonable walks a day plus play time is usually enough. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting Chipiron, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Chipiron?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Tierschutzverein ARCA e.V. handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Chipiron on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Chipiron if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Tierschutzverein ARCA e.V. will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Chipiron already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Chipiron isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Tierschutzverein ARCA e.V. early rather than rehoming privately; they know Chipiron and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
