Chippo

Mixed Breed · Male · Puppy · 3 months

adoption requirements adoption process Adopt this animal now! adoption requirements adoption process Chippo has found his luck! His story: Chippo – a name that translates to mean "the Handsome" one. And whoever has ever gazed into his big, dark round eyes knows immediately why he carries this name. The little black puppy is simply love at first sight! Which breeds exactly are in him remains his sweet secret – but one thing is for sure: Chippo will likely be a medium-sized and a very special, lovable mix. Chippo and his four siblings had great luck: They were found in time and can now grow up in safety. There, the little guy is enjoying his puppyhood to the fullest – curious, playful, and full of joy. He shows a very people-oriented and friendly nature and gets along well with other dogs. Cats he has not met yet, but due to his open nature, he will surely also be friendly to them. Like every young puppy, Chippo now needs people who are ready to walk through life with him with patience, humor, and a warm heart. In the coming months, he will still have to learn a lot – from house training to being left alone and the most important everyday rules. Puberty will not be left out, an exciting time when young puppies like to test how far they can go. Whoever accompanies Chippo with loving consistency and positive upbringing will be rewarded with a loyal, eager-to-learn, and attached companion for life. For Chippo, we wish for an active family or people who are eager to grow with him, discover new things, and explore the world. A positively working dog training class would be ideal to learn together and strengthen the bond. Chippo travels microchipped, vaccinated, dewormed, and flea-treated to his new home. His EU pet passport of course comes with him. Stand: 15.10.

Stand: 15.10.2025

About Chippo

What life with Chippo looks like

Chippo is a large puppy/kitten mixed breed dog waiting at Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. in München.

Puppies need routine, gentle socialization, and roughly two short outings a day for the first year. The first six months are the formative window — house-training, leash work, and quiet exposure to traffic, other dogs, and unfamiliar people happen now or not at all. Expect early-morning wake-ups and a few months of chewing.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting Chippo, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Chippo?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Chippo on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Chippo if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Chippo already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Chippo isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. early rather than rehoming privately; they know Chippo and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
