Chips

Staffordshire Bull Terrier · Male · Young · 3 years

Introducing Chips, he's a 3 year old Staffordshire Bull Terrier looking for his forever home! He's as sweet as he is handsome, proving to be an affectionate boy once warmed up to his people. Chips likes his toys and calm adventures, being happy to travel in the car for quieter walks further afield. We are sure that Chips would make a wonderful companion to a patient home looking for a new best friend to enjoy the quiet life with. Chips is looking for a quiet, adult only family where he can enjoy peaceful potters followed by all the sofa cuddles that he deserves. Chips would not be suited to have any visiting children to the home. He would like a home where he is the only pet; Chips is happy to pass by other dogs calmly but isn't too interested in interaction. Chips would love access to a private, secure garden so that he can sunbathe the day away without worry, this is especially important for him as he requires to be kept on the lead when out and about. As he can be uncomfortable with new people, Chips would like a home where he won't have access to the front door and a family happy to introduce him to visitors gradually outside. As Chips has shown to be worried during vet visits, he requires to be muzzled during this so is looking for adopters comfortable with this and working on his confidence.

About Chips

What life with Chips looks like

Chips is a young adult staffordshire bull terrier dog waiting at Dogs Trust Manchester in Manchester.

An young adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. Two reasonable walks a day plus play time is usually enough. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

🇬🇧Adopting from United Kingdom

UK shelters work under the Pet Travel Scheme (post-Brexit, the EU pet passport is not valid; a UK Animal Health Certificate is required for travel into the EU). Most UK rescues focus on domestic placements but some work with EU partners.

Frequently asked

Adopting Chips, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Chips?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Dogs Trust Manchester handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Chips on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Chips if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Dogs Trust Manchester will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. UK adopters: post-Brexit travel into the EU requires an Animal Health Certificate. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Chips already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Chips isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Dogs Trust Manchester early rather than rehoming privately; they know Chips and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (EN). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
