Adopt CHIRINE

American Staffordshire Terrier · Female · Senior · 12 years

Abandoned: 10/04/2026 Race: American Staffordshire Terrier Sex: Female Microchip: 947000000468079 Born: 20/11/2013 Country: Czech Republic At the shelter since: 10/04/2026 CHIRINE, a sweet soul in search of her retirement basket Chirine is a beautiful American Staffordshire Terrier, with a huge heart and an endearing gaze. This adorable female is a true teddy bear, overflowing with kindness and tenderness for those who share her daily life. Her character: Chirine is a very social, gentle, and balanced dog. She enjoys the company of humans, young and old: she lived with a family with 7 and 11-year-old children without any issues. Today, Chirine enters a more peaceful phase of her life: this well-deserved retirement she hopes to live surrounded by love. She is starting to lose a bit of her vision, which makes her even more touching and requires a reassuring environment. Her needs: Chirine has always lived with a garden, where she could go and come freely. A garden would be a must for her well-being. She is clean, used to managing her outings alone, and appreciates a calm and stable setting. Get-alongs: OK with dogs: she is very gentle with her other animals of the same species and has lived with another dog and a Jack Russell, but the dogs should be more submissive and leave her alone. Not OK with cats: a cat-free home will be imperative. Car/transport: no problem, she travels well. The ideal profile for Chirine: We are looking for a loving family for Chirine, ready to offer her tenderness, patience, and security for the years to come. A house with a garden, adopters sensitive to the well-being of a senior dog, and willing to offer her a peaceful and happy end of life. Chirine has so much love to give… She deserves to settle her paws in a home where she can finally feel at home. Do you think you can offer this cocoon to Chirine? Please contact us ONLY BY PHONE at 02/523.44.16. We would be delighted to talk to you about this wonderful dog and to accompany you in this beautiful meeting. Not suitable for homes with cats.

About CHIRINE

What life with CHIRINE looks like

CHIRINE is a senior american staffordshire terrier dog waiting at Help Animals in Brussels.

Senior dogs settle in faster than younger ones. They want a soft bed, predictable meals, and short, sniff-heavy walks rather than runs. Many senior rescues bond deeply within weeks because they understand exactly how good a stable home is. Expect occasional vet visits for joint or dental care.

🇧🇪Adopting from Belgium

Belgian shelters operate under regional law (Flanders, Wallonia, Brussels each have their own rules). All adoptions include the Eurochip, vaccinations, and a stewardship contract. Several Flemish shelters partner with Dutch and German rescue networks.

Frequently asked

Adopting CHIRINE, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about CHIRINE?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Help Animals handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw CHIRINE on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt CHIRINE if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Help Animals will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is CHIRINE already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if CHIRINE isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Help Animals early rather than rehoming privately; they know CHIRINE and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (FR). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
