Ciapek

Mixed Breed · Male

Ciapek was brought to the foundation with his mother and five siblings from Proszowice, and now lives in a foster home with his brother Lord Cow, both waiting for adoption. The story of his name is that the vet had to quickly give him a name, and since he had a spot, he became Ciapek. This name not only fits his coat pattern but also completely reflects his character, because he is the coolest Ciapek under the sun. Ciapek is a volcano of energy and does not quite understand what is allowed or not allowed, so even though he is suitable for families with children, it must be noted that the child must be able to handle him (for example, pushing him away when he jumps on a plate with food or steals a piece of meat). The new home must also be prepared for his arrival in terms of hiding cables, not leaving food on top, etc., because Ciapek eats everything, both edible and non-edible things. He is raised with his brother, a cat, a dog, and a child. When it comes to people, he immediately shows love, but with animals he has to get used to them because at first he likes to show who is in charge. He loves children. He can patiently endure a four-year-old all day, who constantly comes up with new games (for example, taking him in a chair singing "the train is coming from far away..."). Daily laser chasing is mandatory, he runs until his tongue is out and he's breathing like a puppy. In new places, he leads his brother, he is the first to exit the carrier, the first to explore the rooms. He is also a glutton, loves raw meat, treats, dried fish, and everything a cat can eat (and everything he shouldn't eat as well). The boys sleep together and if there is such an option, they sleep together face down on the caregiver. They are wonderful cuddlers, there is no problem with trimming their claws, they use the litter box perfectly. We are looking for a non-outgoing, loving, safe home for Ciapek, with a secure balcony (if there is one) and/or windows, which will provide him with the best care, either together with his brother Lord Cow or another energetic cat. WARNING!

PL·Show original

Ciapek trafił do fundacji mamą i piątką rodzeństwa z Proszowic, obecnie mieszka w domu tymczasowym z bratem Panem Krowa , obaj czekają na adopcję. About Ciapek

What life with Ciapek looks like

Ciapek is a adult mixed breed cat waiting at Fundacja Stawiamy na Łapy in Poland.

An adult cat usually shows their personality within a week. Give them a quiet room with everything they need (food, water, litter, hiding spot) and let them choose when to explore. Don't force interaction — every cat decides for themselves when a new home counts as home.

🇵🇱Adopting from Poland

Polish shelters maintain established transport routes to Germany, Netherlands, Austria, and Sweden. Animals leave sterilized and chipped. Adoption fees are typically lower than in Western Europe (often €50–€150) but adopters cover transport.

Frequently asked

Adopting Ciapek, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Ciapek?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Fundacja Stawiamy na Łapy handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Ciapek on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Ciapek if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Fundacja Stawiamy na Łapy will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Ciapek already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most cats on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Ciapek isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Fundacja Stawiamy na Łapy early rather than rehoming privately; they know Ciapek and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (PL). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
