Čikita

Female

Vecums (apmēram): 1.5 years (02.2025). MČ - 900263006282610; ). Mix breed; country of origin - Latvia. Health status - no health problems have been observed. Other information: short-haired, vaccinated. This slightly more than a year old, large-sized beauty with flowing ears arrived from Atašiene parish after her owner went to eternal rest. Life has given her trials... but also surprises - it turned out that we have a real "Trojan Horse" Čikita! ???? Soon after arriving at the shelter, her three lovely puppies came. Now Čikita is a careful and caring mother, but she is already looking to the future - to her true family. Initially, she was cautious (and who wouldn't be in her place), but now more and more of her friendly, active and lively personality is revealed. Yes, she still lacks the wisdom of "dog school," but Čikita is young, smart and ready to learn. With a patient and responsible owner, she will certainly become a reliable, wonderful four-legged friend ❤️ If you are looking for a dog with character, a story and a big heart - Čikita is waiting for you. You can meet and reserve Chikita for adoption, but the new owner puppy can only go to a child of a certain age and neutered. For more information about the resident and adoption reservation, contact ☎️28342253, weekdays; weekends Information was posted 04.2026.

Vecums (aptuvenais): 1.5 gadi (02.2025.). About Čikita

What life with Čikita looks like

Čikita is a adult dog waiting at Jēkabpils Dzīvnieku Patversme in Latvia.

An adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. Two reasonable walks a day plus play time is usually enough. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

🇱🇻Adopting from Latvia

The shelter typically completes the animal's vaccinations, microchipping, and pet passport before adoption. Specific fees and process details vary by shelter and country — confirm directly via the contact details in the sidebar.

Frequently asked

Adopting Čikita, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Čikita?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Jēkabpils Dzīvnieku Patversme handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Čikita on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Čikita if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Jēkabpils Dzīvnieku Patversme will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Čikita already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Čikita isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Jēkabpils Dzīvnieku Patversme early rather than rehoming privately; they know Čikita and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (LV). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
