Adopt Cinderella

Female · Adult · 6 years

Breed: Rabbit (or also Princess) Birthdate: circa 2020 – 2021 Our beloved Cinderella came to us as a found animal – abandoned on a field in a really bad condition. With lots of patience, care, and love, we have fattened her up – and thankfully, there’s nothing left of that anymore: She’s doing great again! The approximately 5–6 year old female rabbit is curious, attentive, and very open to her humans. She enjoys the company and shows herself as a friendly, interested companion. Now, Cinderella is ready for the next step: She wants to finally move into her own, loving home. Until the end of April / beginning of May, she should stay in indoor housing, as her fur on her belly and legs still needs to grow back completely. After that, she can very much move into an appropriate outdoor housing – with plenty of space to hop around, explore, and of course, a suitable companion by her side. Who will give our Cinderella the second chance she so deserves?

About Cinderella

What life with Cinderella looks like

Cinderella is a small adult rabbit waiting at Tierschutzverein Pfungstadt und Umgebung e.V in Pfungstadt.

Rabbits are social animals — most shelters recommend adopting them in bonded pairs rather than alone. They need fresh hay daily, several hours of out-of-cage time, and rabbit-safe spaces to explore. They live eight to twelve years, longer than many people expect.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting Cinderella, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Cinderella?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Tierschutzverein Pfungstadt und Umgebung e.V handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Cinderella on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Cinderella if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Tierschutzverein Pfungstadt und Umgebung e.V will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Cinderella already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most rabbits on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Cinderella isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Tierschutzverein Pfungstadt und Umgebung e.V early rather than rehoming privately; they know Cinderella and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
