Cindy

Female · Young · 1 year

For interest in our dear Cindy, please send us the completed application form: Cindy comes to her family directly from Turkey, usually right out of the shelter. What we know about Cindy: Cindy, born around March 2022, is a charming and clever German Shorthaired Pointer female. She is always friendly towards people and gets along well with her fellow animals. Her obedience and the typical lovable traits of her breed make her a true enrichment for German Shorthaired Pointer enthusiasts. Cindy comes from the hilly Sivas shelter. In the rural areas of Turkey, hunting is often practiced. When the season is over or a dog is sick, there may no longer be a need for the faithful companion that should flush out the game. Therefore, it is not unusual to find hunting dogs like Cindy in the public animal shelters of Turkey. When we took her in, she was coughing and weakened. Now she has recovered and is patiently waiting for her new chance. Cindy is an unproblematic dog. Not more than medium-sized. Socially compatible, leash-friendly, and not overly active for a German Shorthaired Pointer or hunting dog mix. Her face and fur are 100% Shorthaired, her body a bit more compact than a pointing dog’s. Perhaps she is not 100% purebred – but her heart is 100% gold. Cindy is a clever girl who would have a lot of fun attending dog training classes with her family to further develop her skills. For Cindy, we are looking for a loving and active family where she will be welcomed as a full-fledged member. If you are looking for a friendly and intelligent girl dog that will enrich your life, Cindy is the perfect choice. Nice to know: Cindy is exactly like her name: simply clever. For interest in our dear Cindy, please send us the completed application form:. Walks well on a leash.

About Cindy

What life with Cindy looks like

Cindy is a small young adult dog waiting at Care-4-life e.V. in Stuttgart.

An young adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. Two reasonable walks a day plus play time is usually enough. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting Cindy, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Cindy?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Care-4-life e.V. handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Cindy on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Cindy if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Care-4-life e.V. will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Cindy already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Cindy isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Care-4-life e.V. early rather than rehoming privately; they know Cindy and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
