adoption requirements adoption process Now request this animal! adoption requirements adoption process Now request this dog! Cindy had a taste of waiting from a young age. As a small puppy, she came to a foster home with her sisters, but her path led her to the shelter. There, she spent a long time alone in her kennel—and yet, she preserved her friendly nature. Every visit was a small highlight for her, and every walk was a moment of joy. It wasn't until she was about 3.5 years old and 60 cm tall that Cindy was finally allowed to travel—last of her little family. Upon arriving in her new home, everything was new: new people, a new environment, and an existing only dog who wanted direct contact. But Cindy quickly showed how adaptable she is. With a clear gaze and open heart, she quickly understood dog language and developed confidently in communication. Encounters with other dogs are quiet and unobtrusive—Cindy knows how to behave politely and calmly. Today, she shows herself as a loving, cheerful companion. She enjoys every pat, seeks the closeness of her people, and has kept her playful, almost puppy-like nature. She masters walks with authority on the leash, she is happy to go, and adapts quickly to new situations. Whether on the go or at home, Cindy finds peace everywhere. And although her appearance might suggest otherwise, she shows no typical herding dog behaviors. Instead, she is convinced with her gentle nature, her willingness to learn, and her great love for people. Cindy has arrived—and is ready to give her heart completely. We are searching for a home in rural surroundings or a quiet suburban location for the dream dog, preferably with an enclosed garden or yard. An only dog would be great for orientation, but Cindy can also be happy as a single dog. Her greatest joy will simply be finding a person who loves her as she is and shows her the beautiful sides of life with joy and empathy. Our Cindy is neutered, microchipped, vaccinated, dewormed, and flea-treated. She brings an EU pet passport and could be adopted after a positive placement. Who has fallen in love with the wonderful Cindy and decided to adopt a unique furred friend for all life situations? Thank you, dear Grace K., for taking on the name sponsorship! As of April 28.

Vermittlungsvoraussetzungen Vermittlungsablauf Jetzt dieses Tier anfragen! Vermittlungsvoraussetzungen Vermittlungsablauf Jetzt diesen Hund anfragen! Stand: 28.04.2026

About Cindy

What life with Cindy looks like

Cindy is a large adult mixed breed dog waiting at Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. in München.

An adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. A larger dog like this one needs daily off-leash time when possible — a fenced yard or regular access to safe walking trails. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting Cindy, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Cindy?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Cindy on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Cindy if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Cindy already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Cindy isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. early rather than rehoming privately; they know Cindy and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
