Cisco

European Shorthair · Male · Young · 1 year

Cisco was just 3 months old when he was found alone and pitifully meowing on the street. Our shelter was informed and we brought him to safety. He didn't seem to belong to any nearby supervised cat colonies. He was well-groomed, a healthy weight, and we thought he might have gotten lost. But unfortunately, he was not microchipped and no one was looking for him. Cisco is a super friendly little cat. Initially, he is shy around strangers, but that quickly wears off and he lets himself be touched and petted without any problems. Once he's settled in, he becomes a real cuddle buddy. He loves people and his fellow felines equally. He plays very gently, but is not overly active. He is super friendly and social with other cats. He takes some time to form friendships, but accepts them quickly once he does. He is currently living with Pipa, Perla, Noisy, and Samba. We will introduce them separately. Cisco will never be placed as a single cat. If there isn't already a cat of similar age and character in the family, we would also be happy to place him with a friend from our cat group. We are looking for a family where Cisco can be a permanent member. Where he is given time to warm up, where he is noticed and cuddled and petted. Children are welcome. Dogs are okay, as long as they are cat-friendly and leave him alone. Cisco will receive outdoor access in a safe and quiet environment. It should be a household with a cat flap or one that is being installed. He will be FIV and Leukose tested, rabies, cold, distemper, and Leukose vaccinated, dewormed, chipped, and castrated.

About Cisco

What life with Cisco looks like

Cisco is a small young adult european shorthair cat waiting at Tierhilfe Anubis e.V. in Germany.

An adult cat usually shows their personality within a week. Give them a quiet room with everything they need (food, water, litter, hiding spot) and let them choose when to explore. Don't force interaction — every cat decides for themselves when a new home counts as home.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting Cisco, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Cisco?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Tierhilfe Anubis e.V. handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Cisco on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Cisco if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Tierhilfe Anubis e.V. will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Cisco already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most cats on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Cisco isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Tierhilfe Anubis e.V. early rather than rehoming privately; they know Cisco and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
