Adopt Clandestina "Nina"

European Shorthair · Female · Adult · 4 years

Identified by microchip Type: European Color: Tabby and white - Coat: short spayed Tested FIV (AIDS) - FELV (Feline Leukemia) negative Vaccinated for Typhus and Cat Flu Health: All good. In foster care Hello everyone! Let me introduce myself, my name is Clandestina, and at the age of two, I have unfortunately already faced difficult challenges: abandoned last June in a shameful way at the shelter (in the middle of the night and left in my carrier behind the gate using ropes), I had a hard time calming down and trusting someone again. Fortunately, a kind volunteer agreed to take care of me and open her home to me while I find a real home where I can thrive and feel good again. Read more... Because of this experience, I have some trouble trusting people at first. I need some time before daring to give big cuddles, but if you talk to me a lot or if we can play ball and hide and seek together, I will feel better each day. When I am comfortable enough, I might even follow you around to always know what you are doing! I also love quietness. If I am bothered too much, I can get a bit upset! Therefore, I am looking for a space all to myself, in a household without children and without another cat that would steal my spotlight. Today, I only want to give my love to someone who can take care of me, so don't hesitate to give me a chance! Find Clandestina on the shelter's Facebook page.

About Clandestina "Nina"

What life with Clandestina "Nina" looks like

Clandestina "Nina" is a adult european shorthair cat waiting at Le Regroupement Des Chats Perdus in France.

An adult cat usually shows their personality within a week. Give them a quiet room with everything they need (food, water, litter, hiding spot) and let them choose when to explore. Don't force interaction — every cat decides for themselves when a new home counts as home.

🇫🇷Adopting from France

French refuges follow the SPA framework: adopters sign a cession contract that includes sterilization, vaccinations, microchip identification, and rabies passport. Fees are typically €150–€300. Many refuges work with rescue transport partners for cross-border placements.

Frequently asked

Adopting Clandestina "Nina", answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Clandestina "Nina"?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Le Regroupement Des Chats Perdus handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Clandestina "Nina" on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Clandestina "Nina" if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Le Regroupement Des Chats Perdus will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Clandestina "Nina" already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most cats on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Clandestina "Nina" isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Le Regroupement Des Chats Perdus early rather than rehoming privately; they know Clandestina "Nina" and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (FR). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
