Clapa

Mixed Breed · Female · Puppy

Gender: female Age: born around June 2024 (approximate estimated date) Size: medium (estimated) (20 kg - December 2025) Date of arrival at the shelter: October 2024 Spayed: yes Vaccinated: yes Microchipped: yes Compatibility: okay with dogs, okay with cats Temperament: fearful Progress: April 24, 2026: She is calm and gentle, yet still very fearful around people other than me. She would need a calm and loving family with plenty of patience given her fearful nature. She gets along wonderfully with Nala and Mimi, the house cat. For now, I only take her out into the garden, as she hasn't yet passed the test for walks—she was very frightened by the outdoor commotion; there was a garbage truck making noise... she became agitated and wanted to go back inside. I’ll try again this weekend. She can be left alone; she doesn’t destroy anything, but she’s not fully house-trained yet. It’s been six months since I’ve had her at home. She absolutely needs a fenced-in yard. With or without other dogs, she could live with a cat—but clearly, having another pet in the family could be an advantage. Children are not mandatory; rather, we’re looking for people who live in a calm environment. Or perhaps a calm child who needs love and affection and will, in return, give Clapa lots of love and cuddles too, because she’s very tender and loves to snuggle. March 27, 2022: She’s becoming more sociable with her foster family, the cat, and Nala—with Noah too. Things are slowly improving. In the morning, she’s happy to see me and goes outside with Nala to do their business, and they play together for a few minutes. Clapa quickly asks to come back inside. I think she feels safe in the house. She’s fine with cats, but she still doesn’t accept the leash—if we put it on her, she starts pawing at it and refuses to move forward... she’d rather run freely in the garden. She remains fearful around people she doesn’t know, but she’s not aggressive—she just tends to retreat to her corner so no one bothers her. February 8, 2026: Clapa is improving more and more, and for your information, she’s fine with cats—everything is going wonderfully. January 21, 2026: The lovely Clapa is starting to relax and join us in the kitchen. I can now take her out on a leash in the garden, though she still trembles quite a bit. January 19, 2025: Clapa made a sudden and impressive leap forward—she’s now sociable with Emilie. She was fearful when she first arrived (October 2024). History: found wandering; her siblings are STORY, BRIDA, EASTON Contact: Spayed: yes Vaccinated: yes Microchipped: yes Compatibility: okay with dogs, okay with cats Temperament: February 8, 2026: Clapa is improving more and more, and for your information, she’s fine with cats—everything is going wonderfully.

About Clapa

What life with Clapa looks like

Clapa is a medium-sized puppy/kitten mixed breed dog waiting at Remember Me France in France.

Puppies need routine, gentle socialization, and roughly two short outings a day for the first year. The first six months are the formative window — house-training, leash work, and quiet exposure to traffic, other dogs, and unfamiliar people happen now or not at all. Expect early-morning wake-ups and a few months of chewing.

🇫🇷Adopting from France

French refuges follow the SPA framework: adopters sign a cession contract that includes sterilization, vaccinations, microchip identification, and rabies passport. Fees are typically €150–€300. Many refuges work with rescue transport partners for cross-border placements.

Frequently asked

Adopting Clapa, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Clapa?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Remember Me France handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Clapa on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Clapa if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Remember Me France will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Clapa already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Clapa isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Remember Me France early rather than rehoming privately; they know Clapa and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (FR). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
