ClÄRchen

Mixed Breed · Female · Puppy · 4 months

adoption requirements adoption process Request this animal now! adoption requirements adoption process Request this dog now! With her alert gaze and special marking on her face, ClÄRchen is a small female dog that you won't soon forget. Currently living in the our shelter in Bistrita, she waits there to be discovered. Together with her brother Clemens, she was found on the street – without protection and on her own. Despite this start, she shows friendliness, curiosity, and openness to human contact today. She enjoys being petted, observes her surroundings attentively, and approaches new situations with a mix of caution and interest. Typical for her age, she is playful and discovers the world step by step. She gets along well with other dogs and is social in her interactions. Whether she knows cats, we cannot say at the moment. Her shortened tail is congenital and does not restrict her in everyday life. However, it is important to know that she unfortunately cannot enter Switzerland due to this. ClÄRchen has not yet experienced life in a home. Things like house training, leash walking, and fixed routines are what she still needs to learn. Puberty is still ahead of her. With patience, structure, and loving consistency, she will develop well and find her place in everyday life. A visit to a positively working dog training class could be beneficial for her and provide additional security. ClÄRchen is microchipped, vaccinated, dewormed, and flea-treated and brings her EU pet passport. As she is still too young, she is not spayed at the moment. Who will discover ClÄRchen and give her the chance to have her own home? Many thanks to her namesake, Petra, who gave ClÄRchen her name.

About ClÄRchen

What life with ClÄRchen looks like

ClÄRchen is a puppy/kitten mixed breed dog waiting at Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. in München.

Puppies need routine, gentle socialization, and roughly two short outings a day for the first year. The first six months are the formative window — house-training, leash work, and quiet exposure to traffic, other dogs, and unfamiliar people happen now or not at all. Expect early-morning wake-ups and a few months of chewing.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting ClÄRchen, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about ClÄRchen?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw ClÄRchen on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt ClÄRchen if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is ClÄRchen already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if ClÄRchen isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. early rather than rehoming privately; they know ClÄRchen and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
