I’m Clarissa. Of course, I’m sweet and very intelligent. I learn quickly, love dogs, and also other animals like horses, sheep, and so on. Driving a car isn’t a problem for me, and I’m especially good at opening doors and searching through trash bins. At first, I’m shy around strangers and need some time to build trust. But that’s not a big deal, is it? Some people seem to be a bit put off by me because I always jump up high near the door in my room, and then they often just walk right past. But they’re making a mistake there. They really need to get to know me as I truly am. With our volunteer dog walkers, though, I’m their favorite. They know me exactly as I am, and I really look forward to our walks together. On those walks, I walk calmly on the leash—preferably accompanied by canine friends. Although walking alone with my human would become easier for me over time, the staff here say I need clear instructions and experienced dog owners who can give me structure and guidance. Unclear situations cause me stress. Somehow, I get along better with women—so the men will have to make a little more effort with me. I love learning new things, and with consistent leadership, you’ll help me a lot. Then I’ll become a truly reliable companion for life. Mixed-breed female dog, born January 9, 2023, spayed.

Ich bin die Clarissa. Natürlich bin ich lieb und sehr intelligent. Ich lerne schnell, mag Hunde und auch andere Tiere wie Pferde, Schafe usw. Autofahren ist für mich kein Problem und ich kann besonders gut Türen öffnen und Mülleimer durchsuchen. Bei fremden Menschen bin ich anfangs schüchtern und brauche etwas Zeit um Vertrauen fassen zu können. Das ist doch nicht schlimm oder? Manche Leute scheine ich etwas abzuschrecken, weil ich in meinem Zimmer immer so an der Tür hochspringe und dann gehen die Leute oft gleich weiter. Aber da machen sie einen Fehler. Die müssen mich erst kennenlernen, wie ich richtig bin. – Bei unseren ehrenamtlichen Gassigehern, da bin ich der Liebling. Die kennen mich halt wie ich bin und da freue ich mich sehr auf die gemeinsamen Spaziergänge. Da laufe ich ruhig an der Leine, am liebsten in Begleitung von Hundegefährten. Alleine mit meinem Menschen die Runde zu drehen, das würde ich aber mit der Zeit auch hinbekommen. Aber die Mitarbeiter hier sagen, ich brauche klare Ansagen und hundeerfahrene Menschen, die mir Struktur und Orientierung geben. Ungeklärte Situationen bedeuten für mich Stress. Mit Frauen komme ich irgendwie besser zurecht, na da müssen sich die Männer mal ein bißchen mehr Mühe mit mir geben.
