CLEO (F) – 3 years old – Looking for adopters BLC W134005172 (France) Characteristics Date of birth: 02/07/2023 Sex: Female Registered with LOF/LOSH/ISDS: No Disabilities: No Child-friendly: Yes Dog-friendly: Yes Cat-friendly: Loves chasing them playfully Other animal-friendly: No Character—almost perfect dog! There’s no doubt that Cléo isn’t a typical Border Collie. In other words, Cléo doesn’t get overly reactive on walks, she doesn’t nip, and she knows how to play fetch without going overboard... Still, she’s a lively dog who could make a wonderful athletic companion. She’s curious and food-motivated, which helps her eagerly explore new adventures. Due to her past, she’s initially timid. She’s very close to her humans and other dogs. She’s well-socialized and will do everything possible to avoid conflicts with other dogs. As for training? Not much to work on: recall is good, walking nicely on leash comes naturally, she knows how to walk off-leash, and “stay” is in progress. You’ll need to continue the training you’ve started. History Cléo lived with another dog in an unstable family. Following their eviction from their home, the association took charge of both dogs. Cléo hadn’t experienced much before being placed in foster care. Ideal home A dynamic family, lots of cuddles. Nice extras would be: a canine companion, a sofa she’s allowed to use, and strawberry plants (no need to pick them—she knows how to do it herself). She’s okay traveling in a converted van. BLC works with a questionnaire, a home visit, and an adoption contract. BorderlineCollie is a non-profit association. To continue our work of welcoming and rehabilitating Border Collies, we ask for an adoption fee contribution for the dogs we rehome. Cléo n’a rien du border, c’est sûr. About CLEO

What life with CLEO looks like

CLEO is a young adult mixed breed dog waiting at Border Line Collie in borderlinecollie.

An young adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. Two reasonable walks a day plus play time is usually enough. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

🇫🇷Adopting from France

French refuges follow the SPA framework: adopters sign a cession contract that includes sterilization, vaccinations, microchip identification, and rabies passport. Fees are typically €150–€300. Many refuges work with rescue transport partners for cross-border placements.

Frequently asked

Adopting CLEO, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about CLEO?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Border Line Collie handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw CLEO on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt CLEO if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Border Line Collie will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is CLEO already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if CLEO isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Border Line Collie early rather than rehoming privately; they know CLEO and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (FR). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
