adoption requirements adoption process Now request this animal! adoption requirements adoption process Now request this dog! Cleo is now almost 5 months old and is still waiting for her first request. She is a charming young female dog, looking for a loving home with her two sisters. The story of the little family began in a village near Cluj, where their mother gave birth to six puppies on a farm. Unfortunately, only the three girls, Sugar, Dory, and Cleo, survived. The landowner, however, did not want to keep the little family there. So, Cleo and her sisters moved into the our shelter in Fantanele, where they are now safe and receive enough to eat, hoping to finally find their own families. Cleo shows herself to be a happy, active, and very affectionate young female dog. She is curious and open, meeting people friendly and interested. With her carefree nature, she immediately spreads a good mood. She enjoys attention, plays happily, and explores her surroundings with great enthusiasm. At the same time, she enjoys cuddles and constantly seeks the company of people. Her nature is playful, social, and full of joy. Cleo gets along well with other dogs and shows friendliness and compatibility in handling. Cleo is rather delicate in build and finely built. Currently, she measures about 41 cm at the shoulder and is expected to grow to a medium size. Visually, she is a particularly pretty young female with a very friendly expression. Her soft black-and-white fur is especially charming with the playful little spots. Her soft hanging ears and her dark, alert eyes give her a gentle and simultaneously curious look. Since Cleo is still very young, of course, she must still learn everything that belongs to a relaxed coexistence with people. House training, leash manners, and the basic rules of everyday life are still on her learning plan. A positively working dog training class can be a valuable support. She is vaccinated, microchipped, dewormed, and treated for fleas. She is not yet neutered due to her young age. For her travel arrangements, she also brings her EU pet passport. After a positive assessment, a foster home would also be a very important first step to a real home for her. Is Cleo exactly the right one for you? Many thanks, Carolin O.! You gave Cleo her name and thus enabled her the first step into a new life. As of: 02.04.

Vermittlungsvoraussetzungen Vermittlungsablauf Jetzt dieses Tier anfragen! Vermittlungsvoraussetzungen Vermittlungsablauf Jetzt diesen Hund anfragen! About Cleo

What life with Cleo looks like

Cleo is a puppy/kitten mixed breed dog waiting at Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. in München.

Puppies need routine, gentle socialization, and roughly two short outings a day for the first year. The first six months are the formative window — house-training, leash work, and quiet exposure to traffic, other dogs, and unfamiliar people happen now or not at all. Expect early-morning wake-ups and a few months of chewing.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting Cleo, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Cleo?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Cleo on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Cleo if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Cleo already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Cleo isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. early rather than rehoming privately; they know Cleo and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
