Clove (& Nutmeg)

Mixed Breed · Female · Kitten · 2 months

Hello, I’m Nutmeg, the mum, and this little sweetheart beside me is my daughter, Clove. We’re a wonderfully close pair, and our bond is something rather special. Wherever life takes us, we want to take it together, we wouldn’t dream of doing life without each other. We’re both lovely girls who enjoy a gentle fuss and a little attention from our favourite humans. We appreciate a kind word, a gentle stroke, and being reminded that we’re loved. We particularly like it when people tell us how beautiful and cute we are! We’re also very enthusiastic about food, if you happen to be bringing snacks, you can be sure you’ll have our undivided attention. We think mealtimes are one of life’s greatest pleasures, and we’re always happy to investigate anything delicious that comes our way. When we’re not busy enjoying our food or having a little fuss, you’ll often find us snuggled up together in a big, cosy blanket. There’s nothing better than finding a lovely warm spot, curling up beside your favourite person, and letting the world carry on while you enjoy a peaceful snooze. And that’s exactly what we’re dreaming of doing in a home of our very own, where we can settle in together, enjoy all the little comforts of family life, and spend our days doing the things that make us happiest. We can picture ourselves tucked up in our favourite blanket, enjoying gentle attention from our humans, and never having to worry about where we’ll sleep or who will be there beside us.If you have room in your heart for a devoted mum and daughter who are happiest together, we’d love to meet you. We’re ready to find our forever home, preferably one with a very generous supply of cosy blankets! About Clove (& Nutmeg)

What life with Clove (& Nutmeg) looks like

Clove (& Nutmeg) is a large kitten mixed breed cat waiting at National Animal Welfare Trust in Watford.

Kittens are tiny chaos engines for about six months and then mellow rapidly. They need two scheduled feedings, a litter box per cat plus one extra, and somewhere high to climb. Spay/neuter happens around six months — most shelters arrange this before adoption.

🇬🇧Adopting from United Kingdom

UK shelters work under the Pet Travel Scheme (post-Brexit, the EU pet passport is not valid; a UK Animal Health Certificate is required for travel into the EU). Most UK rescues focus on domestic placements but some work with EU partners.

Frequently asked

Adopting Clove (& Nutmeg), answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Clove (& Nutmeg)?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. National Animal Welfare Trust handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Clove (& Nutmeg) on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Clove (& Nutmeg) if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — National Animal Welfare Trust will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. UK adopters: post-Brexit travel into the EU requires an Animal Health Certificate. Transport is usually a separate cost, so ask for the exact figure before you commit.
Is Clove (& Nutmeg) already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most cats on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Clove (& Nutmeg) isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with National Animal Welfare Trust early rather than rehoming privately; they know Clove (& Nutmeg) and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (EN). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
