adoption requirements adoption process Now request this animal! adoption requirements adoption process Now request this cat! Clyde has found a home! His story: Clyde is a young tomcat full of energy and joy. He loves to play, chasing after excited toys, and enjoys small treats. Despite his temperament, he is gentle and very friendly—both with cats and dogs. He is independent but never distant. When called, he comes, plays, and enjoys attention. He loves cuddles without being pushy. Through his balanced nature, he fits well into a family, even with children, as he is patient and careful. Clyde did not have an easy start in life. He was found in a so-called "hoarder household," in poor health with several infections. Due to the Herpesvirus, he lost his left eye. Thanks to intensive treatment, he is now healthy, stable, and full of energy. His disability does not affect his daily life—he moves around safely and plays like any other young cat. Clyde gets along very well with other cats and should therefore not be rehomed as a single cat. He is also compatible with dogs. A free run is not recommended for him; he should enjoy the safety of a protected home. For his travel arrangements, Clyde is microchipped, vaccinated, dewormed, treated for fleas, and tested negative for FIV and FeLV. Of course, he brings his EU pet passport. After adopting Clyde, you will receive a lively, friendly young tomcat who, despite his tough start, looks forward to the future with trust and energy. A heartfelt thank you to the sponsors from Teddy Farms, who support Clyde and make his way into a safe home possible. As of: 23.02. This cat needs outdoor access.

Stand: 23.02.2026

About Clyde

What life with Clyde looks like

Clyde is a puppy/kitten mixed breed cat waiting at Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. in München.

Kittens are tiny chaos engines for about six months and then mellow rapidly. They need two scheduled feedings, a litter box per cat plus one extra, and somewhere high to climb. Spay/neuter happens around six months — most shelters arrange this before adoption.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting Clyde, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Clyde?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Clyde on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Clyde if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Clyde already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most cats on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Clyde isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. early rather than rehoming privately; they know Clyde and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
