Clyde

Husky · Male · Adult · 4 years

Clyde – a loud, large-boned, independent dog “Hello, I am Clyde. You know, there are those dogs who immediately bite anyone, bark at everything, and throw themselves at strangers within the first minute. Well… I’m not that type. I’m more the husky who walks into a room, looks around, and says, “Okay, who’s in charge here? Because if no one is, then it will be me.” I’m dominant, and I don’t try to make it sound pretty. With people or dogs. I can usually get along with the shy ones, but with the bold ones… well, let’s just say I’m not the “friends with the boys” type. I don’t really respect the smaller dogs either – it doesn’t matter if they’re boys or girls; I would rather be the boss. That’s why I’m looking for a very determined, consistent owner who isn’t intimidated by a dog who tests the limits. Because I do test the limits. Not out of malice, but because that’s who I am: I love knowing my place in the system. If you can show me that you are the leader, then I can work together, and yes, I can be a good companion. But not for everyone – and that’s okay. One thing for sure: whoever chooses me will not have an uneventful life. I am Clyde, the character, the challenge, the “I don’t give myself away easily” husky. But if someone understands my type and loves strong personalities, they will find their special companion within me.” Clyde can be found in Szeged.

Clyde – a nagyhangú, nagyarcú, nagy egyéniség „Helló, Clyde vagyok. Emberekkel is, kutyákkal is.

About Clyde

What life with Clyde looks like

Clyde is a large adult husky dog waiting at description in Hungary.

An adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. A larger dog like this one needs daily off-leash time when possible — a fenced yard or regular access to safe walking trails. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

🇭🇺Adopting from Hungary

Hungarian shelters operate at high capacity given the country's stray population. Animals leave sterilized, chipped, and with a passport. Many shelters coordinate transport to Germany, Austria, and the Nordics.

Frequently asked

Adopting Clyde, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Clyde?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. description handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Clyde on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Clyde if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — description will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Clyde already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Clyde isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with description early rather than rehoming privately; they know Clyde and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (HU). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
