Coco

Mixed Breed · Unknown · Young · 2 years

A uniquely patterned beauty with a huge heart—your loyal companion for life! 🍀 COCO—Stunningly beautiful, patterned dog with an open heart: a people-oriented dream pup is looking for her forever home! The enchanting Coco is waiting for her big break! Together with her sister Tabby, Coco was rescued from the grim euthanasia shelter Dăeni (Tulcea) and brought to safety in October 2025. Born in December 2023, this lovely young lady is at the prime of her life: she’s left behind the most turbulent puppyhood phase and, at around 2.5 years old, brings together a wonderful mix of youthful curiosity and eager maturity—ready to explore the world alongside her humans! Standing about 53 cm tall at the shoulder, Coco has a delightful, comfortable medium size. Visually, she’s an absolute beauty—a real head-turner: her short, dense coat features a noble, dark patterning that gives her an especially special aura. From her warm, attentive eyes shines a loyal soul, ready to give her heart away. While some dogs from shelters take time to build trust—like her sister Tabby—Coco shows an exceptionally friendly and approachable side: she’s extremely people-oriented! Coco actively seeks human contact, thoroughly enjoys cuddles and affection, and simply wants to please. She already walks wonderfully on the leash and follows her caregivers attentively. We’re looking for people who love to gently introduce this sweet and open-minded pup to the basics of dog life and help her learn how to live happily in a household—step by step. Coco is already spayed and can’t wait to finally join a loving family as a full-fledged member. Very people-oriented, cuddly, attentive ✓ Happy to be joined by another dog ✓ Prefers living in a rural setting—no small children in the household—no urban environment We rescued Coco from the Daeni/Tulcea shelter in October 2025. We know nothing about her previous history. Help Coco find a home—share this with your friends ❤️

About Coco

What life with Coco looks like

Coco is a large young adult mixed breed dog waiting at Hundsrücker Tierschutz gUG in Germany.

An young adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. A larger dog like this one needs daily off-leash time when possible — a fenced yard or regular access to safe walking trails. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting Coco, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Coco?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Hundsrücker Tierschutz gUG handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Coco on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Coco if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Hundsrücker Tierschutz gUG will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Coco already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Coco isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Hundsrücker Tierschutz gUG early rather than rehoming privately; they know Coco and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
