COCO

Mixed Breed · Male · Adult · 7 years

Coco, once a rambunctious and energetic dog, is now a magnificent, super-happy dog who always smiles and is friendly with everyone. His greatest joy is going for walks, whenever he can, which is not often. He is happy with everything, adapts without problems, but is not chosen. He is not violent at all, just playful. Coco is a male born on 10/15/2019, from a rescued litter. It seems the children in the family did not learn how to play, and the puppy's exuberance was misunderstood. The result was that he was returned to the shelter. He is active as a puppy, but has grown into a young dog who still lives in the shelter. He plays with other dogs and can live with chickens and cats. He is a medium-high energy dog, ideal for young athletes, active people... as soon as he gains confidence, he focuses a lot, learns commands and only wants to be listened to. Now he is a much more centered dog, with high intelligence and adaptability, walks well and is very affectionate. He is waiting for a forever family that appreciates his charm and wants to have him as a member. It's a shame that such a magnificent dog has to spend his life in a shelter. COCO, WITHOUT A DOUBT THE MOST LIKABLE, CHARMING, PLAYFUL DOG, WHO GETS ALONG WELL WITH ALL VOLUNTEERS AND JUST WANTS A WALK AND PLAY, BUT STILL STAYS IN THE SHELTER. HE IS ONE OF THOSE DOGS WHO, WHILE BEING MAGNIFICENT, DO NOT FIND THEIR OPPORTUNITY.

About COCO

What life with COCO looks like

COCO is a medium-sized adult mixed breed dog waiting at Naturaleza y Animales in Spain.

An adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. Two reasonable walks a day plus play time is usually enough. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

🇪🇸Adopting from Spain

Spanish protectoras generally include sterilization, all vaccinations, microchip ID, and EU pet passport in the adoption fee (typically €250–€400 for a dog, €100–€180 for a cat). Many maintain partnerships with rescue transport providers across the EU.

Frequently asked

Adopting COCO, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about COCO?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Naturaleza y Animales handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw COCO on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt COCO if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Naturaleza y Animales will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is COCO already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if COCO isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Naturaleza y Animales early rather than rehoming privately; they know COCO and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (ES). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
