Coco

Mixed Breed · Female

Meet Coco Just look at those gorgeous green eyes! Beautiful Coco is a stunning, semi-long-haired little lady Still only a baby herself, Coco has already raised her family and has been the most wonderful, loving and protective first-time mum. Now that her mummy duties are over, it’s finally Coco’s turn to be loved and spoiled! Coco is a shy, gentle little soul who just needs someone with patience and kindness to help her blossom. She enjoys a gentle pet while she’s snoozing, and once she learns to trust you, she’s happy to be picked up too. We think Coco would be happiest perhaps with an older person looking for a lovely companion, or with older children or teenagers who understand that trust takes time. She’s not the sort of cat who will demand attention straight away, but there’s something incredibly special about earning the trust of a shy little cat. all vet work done Litter trained Absolutely beautiful! Coco has spent her young life looking after her babies. Now she deserves someone who will look after her.

About Coco

What life with Coco looks like

Coco is an adult mixed breed cat waiting at Mayo SPCA in F35 A008.

An adult cat usually shows their personality within a week. Give them a quiet room with everything they need (food, water, litter, hiding spot) and let them choose when to explore. Don't force interaction — every cat decides for themselves when a new home counts as home.

🇮🇪Adopting from Ireland

Irish shelters require a home check (often phone or video) and an adoption contract. Animals are vaccinated, chipped, and registered. Cross-border placements to mainland Europe require the rabies titer test (TRACES system).

Frequently asked

Adopting Coco, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Coco?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Mayo SPCA handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Coco on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Coco if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Mayo SPCA will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Transport is usually a separate cost, so ask for the exact figure before you commit.
Is Coco already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most cats on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Coco isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Mayo SPCA early rather than rehoming privately; they know Coco and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (EN). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
