COCO is a small male dog born in November 2024 with a shoulder height of about 35 cm and weighing around 10 kg. When he was found, he was wandering alone on the street. No one knows where he came from or why no one missed him. Today, Coco lives in a loving foster home in Spain and has immediately won everyone's hearts. The little ray of sunshine integrated effortlessly into the existing dog group and also accepted Cat Lucie right away. Especially beautiful was the first evening together with his foster mother on the couch and in bed, where Coco got to meet Cat Lucie. The two liked each other immediately and slept peacefully next to each other all night. Coco is a loving, obedient, and all-around pleasant dog who enjoys being able to move freely and finding a cozy spot inside or outside. With his friendly nature, he brings joy to his foster home every day. Once again, this is a dog that makes you wonder why he was alone and why no one was looking for him. If Coco has touched your heart and you would like to give him a loving home, a foster home, or a foster home with an option to stay, he could be welcomed into your arms on June 6, 2026. Petra would be delighted to receive your message or call. 📞 0173 60 777 11 📧 will be rehomed following animal welfare standards. He is vaccinated, microchipped, neutered, dewormed, and treated for fleas. Find us here: www.hund-tut-gut.deinfo-tut-gut.

About Coco

What life with Coco looks like

Coco is a small puppy/kitten mixed breed dog waiting at Hund-tut-gut e.V. in Sehnde.

Puppies need routine, gentle socialization, and roughly two short outings a day for the first year. The first six months are the formative window — house-training, leash work, and quiet exposure to traffic, other dogs, and unfamiliar people happen now or not at all. Expect early-morning wake-ups and a few months of chewing.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting Coco, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Coco?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Hund-tut-gut e.V. handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Coco on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Coco if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Hund-tut-gut e.V. will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Coco already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Coco isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Hund-tut-gut e.V. early rather than rehoming privately; they know Coco and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
