Adopt Coco2

Mixed Breed · Male

Description Our animal welfare workers report: Coco2 is considered an elegant, independent dog with the soul of an explorer. 🌿🐾He is large and slender, with an elegant, agile gait reminiscent of a horse. He exudes an impressive presence, radiating calm and determination while walking. He is a dog who “moves slowly but steadily” and purposefully forward, while sniffing at every corner. He walks well on a leash and does not pull—except when he meets another dog he doesn’t like. In this case, he might growl, but can be easily distracted. Coco2 is independent and reserved. 🐶 He enjoys affection but does not want to sit still for long. He loves going for walks, exploring, sniffing, and searching for treats in the grass. During walks, he is curious and attentive to his surroundings. It is advisable to avoid sudden movements. When a staff member once tried to untangle his leash, he gave a mild warning, likely out of insecurity or discomfort. He can also be a bit rough when taking treats, so these should be offered calmly and respectfully. It is currently not clear whether Coco2 is compatible with other animals. He tends to growl and keep other dogs at a distance during encounters; individual walks and supervised, step-by-step meetings are best.🩺 Coco2 is currently still far too thin, he should gain more body weight, and requires high-quality food. Coco2 came from a case of “Noah Syndrome,” meaning that he lived in a situation where one person had too many animals and did not provide adequate care for them. Dogs from such an environment are often not sufficiently socialized and can have physical and emotional deficits. This could explain his reserved nature and his reactions to unexpected situations. Despite this, Coco2 has a lot to offer: He runs well, is attentive, respectful towards people, and has a remarkable adaptability if given time and space. ✨ What does Coco2 need?📌 A quiet, low-stress, rural environment where he can move at his own pace.🐾 A primary caregiver who respects his independence and rhythm.❤️ Patience and affection without forcing contact.🐶 Daily walks on familiar, stimulating routes.👨‍For Coco2, experienced adopters are best suited who understand his need for freedom. For Coco2, we are looking for experienced people who want to help him regain his trust in people. Please note:

About Coco2

What life with Coco2 looks like

Coco2 is a adult mixed breed dog waiting at Tierischgeholfen e.V. in Germany.

An adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. Two reasonable walks a day plus play time is usually enough. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting Coco2, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Coco2?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Tierischgeholfen e.V. handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Coco2 on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Coco2 if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Tierischgeholfen e.V. will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Coco2 already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Coco2 isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Tierischgeholfen e.V. early rather than rehoming privately; they know Coco2 and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
