CODY (M) 6 years – for adoption via BorderLineCollie Characteristics Date of birth: 30/03/2017 Gender: Male Registered with LOF/LOSH/ISDS: No Disabilities: No Child compatibility: yes, but only with teenagers Dog compatibility: needs to be assessed Cat compatibility: fixes cats indoors Other compatibility: No Character Cody is a Border Collie who is curious, affectionate but somewhat busy. He is loyal to his family and to people he knows and trusts. Strangers and unfamiliar dogs excite him and he prefers to avoid them. Cody is also somewhat rowdy in his actions. He is sensitive to too many stimuli and loud noises. Cody is disturbed by the hustle and bustle in the house. Due to the family expanding with twins, Cody is no longer receiving the time and attention he needs. Cody also finds the house too crowded; he avoids children as much as possible. However, a "bite incident" recently occurred. For these reasons, Cody's owners have asked BorderLineCollie to find him a more suitable home. History Cody's owners bought him from a private individual when he was an 8-week-old puppy. In 2019, Cody ran out of the door in a panic and bit the neighbor. The owners hired a behavior therapist to work on this issue. Cody also saw an osteopath for his behavior (rowdy). Visits to both therapists helped to some extent. Cody fixates on traffic (cars, cyclists, skaters) and busy dogs. He tenses up on a leash when he sees other dogs and attacks them. When he is off-leash, this phenomenon is much less frequent. Due to the tense situation on the street, delicate situations are now avoided. At 18 months old, Cody went to see sheep several times. He showed interest at the time, but due to the way the obedience training was conducted, the owners ended this activity. For Cody, BorderLineCollie is looking for adopters who will actively work with him. We need to find which fun/sport activities Cody can effectively expend his energy in. It is clear that it would be better for Cody to live in a calm environment with few strong stimuli. Home sought Adoption Neutered/spayed: No, but will be Vaccinated: Yes Identifier: 528210004617726 Address: Aalden, Netherlands Participation in costs: 180€ Contact person: Maco Hoogenboom (Netherlands) or Veerle Baekelandt (Belgium) via messenger Email: Share on PinterestShare with your friendsYour NameYour EmailRecipient EmailEnter a MessageI read this article and found it very interesting, I think you might like it. About CODY

What life with CODY looks like

CODY is a adult mixed breed dog waiting at Border Line Collie in borderlinecollie.

An adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. Two reasonable walks a day plus play time is usually enough. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

🇫🇷Adopting from France

French refuges follow the SPA framework: adopters sign a cession contract that includes sterilization, vaccinations, microchip identification, and rabies passport. Fees are typically €150–€300. Many refuges work with rescue transport partners for cross-border placements.

Frequently asked

Adopting CODY, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about CODY?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Border Line Collie handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw CODY on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt CODY if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Border Line Collie will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is CODY already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if CODY isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Border Line Collie early rather than rehoming privately; they know CODY and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (FR). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
