adoption requirements adoption process Now request this animal! adoption requirements adoption process Now request this dog! Cody has found a home! His story: Cody was found with his mother and five siblings and was brought to safety. His mother, a delicate, medium-sized mixed-breed female dog, was already traveling to her forever home. Now, the approximately 3-month-old male dog waits to find his own family. At the moment, he is about 25 centimeters tall and weighs between 2 and 3 kilograms. His black fur shines in the light, and a light spot on his chest gives him an unmistakable look. His particularly charming little cocked ears give him a cheerful, inquisitive aura. Cody looks into the world with his dark eyes, always ready to discover something new. He is open, friendly, and affectionate—both towards people and fellow animals. Cody loves to enjoy closeness, play, and constantly experience small adventures. For his future life, he wishes for people who can give him security and accompany him through his growth with patience and loving consistency. Like all young dogs, Cody also needs stable structures, plenty of time to learn—especially for the small dog ABCs—many positive experiences, and enough quiet to process the exciting everyday life. He brings wonderful prerequisites to become a faithful, lively, and social companion. Positive dog training classes can also support him, especially when the exciting pubertal months begin. He travels vaccinated, microchipped, dewormed, and treated for fleas. Due to his young age, he is not yet neutered. In his travel arrangements, he of course brings his EU pet passport. His age is still young. A foster home would also be a great gift for him. Do you want to show Cody how beautiful a protected dog life can be? Many thanks to Celine! You gave Cody his name and thus made the first step into a new life possible. Status: 06.12.

Vermittlungsvoraussetzungen Vermittlungsablauf Jetzt dieses Tier anfragen! Vermittlungsvoraussetzungen Vermittlungsablauf Jetzt diesen Hund anfragen! Vielen Dank an Celine! About Cody

What life with Cody looks like

Cody is a medium-sized puppy/kitten mixed breed dog waiting at Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. in München.

Puppies need routine, gentle socialization, and roughly two short outings a day for the first year. The first six months are the formative window — house-training, leash work, and quiet exposure to traffic, other dogs, and unfamiliar people happen now or not at all. Expect early-morning wake-ups and a few months of chewing.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting Cody, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Cody?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Cody on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Cody if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Cody already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Cody isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. early rather than rehoming privately; they know Cody and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
