Cody

Podenco · Male · Young · 1 year

Zack & Cody were found together, without microchip, in Los Monteros area, that has recently become a very common dumping ground for Podencos, we have already many Podencos from that area. We are guessing that it is hunters dropping their "not useful tools" in the area. At least they arrive to us alive, so we are happy for that. Cody is the more light brown of the two friends, Zack is dark brown. In the beginning, both of them were cautious about people, not scared and even not shy, but just you could see that humans did not mean much positive to them, but at the same time, they very quickly and very well related to other dogs, and they have been living together with different other dogs (mostly females) ever since. Over the months, they have both started to relate much more to humans, and by now they love to go for walks and engage with humans, whether it's for cuddles, snacks or exercises. Cody is really a very beautiful Podenco in a great shape. His eyes are amber yellow and he charms the volunteers with his gaze. Cody walks very well on the leash, and loves to live together with other dogs. He does not need to be living together with Zack, but he is definitely looking to have one or more dogs already waiting for him in his new home. Cody now engages with humans quickly and keeps his attention on you, so he is lovely to do training exercises with. He used to be skeptical with people, and can still take a moment to check a new person out from distance first, but then you see his body posture and face relaxing, and he trusts you and enjoys your company quickly. Cody has not been out for a day yet, so we are not sure how he feels about a town environment, cars etc, but as all Podencos, he definitely would enjoy to live near the nature, and home with a secure garden would be ideal, as well as previous experience with Podencos or similar breeds. His shoulder height is 47cm.

About Cody

What life with Cody looks like

Cody is a medium-sized young adult podenco dog waiting at Triple A Marbella in Marbella.

An young adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. Two reasonable walks a day plus play time is usually enough. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

🇪🇸Adopting from Spain

Spanish protectoras generally include sterilization, all vaccinations, microchip ID, and EU pet passport in the adoption fee (typically €250–€400 for a dog, €100–€180 for a cat). Many maintain partnerships with rescue transport providers across the EU.

Frequently asked

Adopting Cody, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Cody?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Triple A Marbella handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Cody on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Cody if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Triple A Marbella will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Cody already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Cody isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Triple A Marbella early rather than rehoming privately; they know Cody and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (EN). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
