Cody

Shar Pei · Male · Puppy · 7 months

A sweet boy moved to one of our other Shar-Peis 2 months ago. Unfortunately, his luck was short-lived. Due to a separation, the two Shar-Peis came back to us and Cody is now confused about what he did wrong and why he couldn't stay... Cody is just sweet. New people are initially eyed, but it doesn't take long and he trots peacefully alongside them. The first cuddles don't take long to arrive, as soon as he realizes that people are friendly to him. Typical of a young dog, he is playful, active and has a few lovable quirks. Apart from that, he is rather calm on the go and walks are very pleasant with him. He likes other dogs and children anyway :) Who will ensure that he finally has a bit of luck and wants to get to know him?

DE·Show original

About Cody

What life with Cody looks like

Cody is a puppy/kitten shar pei dog waiting at Tierheim Arche Noah in Graz.

Puppies need routine, gentle socialization, and roughly two short outings a day for the first year. The first six months are the formative window — house-training, leash work, and quiet exposure to traffic, other dogs, and unfamiliar people happen now or not at all. Expect early-morning wake-ups and a few months of chewing.

🇦🇹Adopting from Austria

Austrian shelters follow the federal Tierschutzgesetz framework: adopters sign a Schutzvertrag (protection contract) committing to the animal's welfare. Spay/neuter, microchip, and vaccinations are included; fees typically range €150–€350.

Frequently asked

Adopting Cody, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Cody?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Tierheim Arche Noah handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Cody on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Cody if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Tierheim Arche Noah will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Cody already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Cody isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Tierheim Arche Noah early rather than rehoming privately; they know Cody and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
