Mixed Breed · Male · Puppy · 8 months

adoption requirements adoption process Now request this animal! adoption requirements adoption process Connor has found a new home! His story: Connor is currently 8 months old and has grown into a sturdy male dog with a shoulder height of 72 cm. He has learned a lot in the past four months and is still learning. He masters all basic commands, is house-trained, and can be left alone for short periods. Conner walks on a leash without any problems in a familiar environment. Dog encounters during walks are not problematic. Connor lives with children, an older male dog, and a female dog. He has no problems with the female dog, but he does not get along well with the male dog since he entered puberty. This is also a reason why Connor had to leave his home. He gets along well with the children in the family. Connor knows horses, sheep, and geese behind the fence and watches them very closely, but he does not show any signs of chasing or barking at them. He only knows cats from his previous foster home in Romania. Wild animals interest him, but he does not make any attempts to chase them. Autofahren is not something Connor enjoys; he does not willingly get into a car, and given his weight of about 45 kg, it is also difficult to lift him into the car. There is still a lot of convincing work to be done. Connor is a quiet, friendly male dog and overall a great companion. As he currently does not get along with other male dogs, he urgently needs a new place. A foster home would also help, as Conner does not feel comfortable in the current situation. Conner is likely a herding dog mix and would be best suited for people who have already dealt with the characteristics of a herding dog or who have experience with them. He should live in a rural area, and a larger garden would be great. In the city, he would not be happy. Also, taking him to the office would be a problem. There should be little changing company in his home. Children should be at least in the teenage years and accustomed to handling large dogs. A female dog could live in his new home, but a male dog cannot. Who can offer Connor an appropriate place? Please contact us. Connor may also be visited by arrangement. Conner is microchipped, vaccinated, dewormed, and treated for fleas. He has an EU pet passport and will only be taken to a positive home. Who will give Connor his forever home? Many thanks to Tatjana! You gave Connor his name. Date: 28.08.

Vielen Dank an Tatjana! Du hast Connor seinen Namen geschenkt. Stand: 28.08.2024

About Connor

What life with Connor looks like

Connor is a extra-large puppy/kitten mixed breed dog waiting at Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. in München.

Puppies need routine, gentle socialization, and roughly two short outings a day for the first year. The first six months are the formative window — house-training, leash work, and quiet exposure to traffic, other dogs, and unfamiliar people happen now or not at all. Expect early-morning wake-ups and a few months of chewing.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting Connor, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Connor?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Connor on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Connor if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Connor already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Connor isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. early rather than rehoming privately; they know Connor and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
