Adopt Cooper

Unknown · Senior · 11 years

Sharpey, who had a colorful life and ended up with us in his old age and may even spend the rest of his life here. Six years ago, a man took Cooper from the shelter, who had him for three years, then Cooper was handed over to the care of his parents, who looked after him for another three years until this summer vacation, when first Cooper attacked a lady and later also the man. Since it wasn't just a scratch from a tooth, but rather unpleasant incidents, they began to fear Cooper and therefore he was brought to us. We are trying to establish contact with him, but it's quite difficult, Cooper is still quite inaccessible to our efforts and does not react kindly, but it takes time... 11/2025 Patience brings a rose and fortunately we can confirm this with Cooper as well. A lot of attention is given to him by one of our colleagues and he really responds warmly to her. He already perceives the rest of us positively and likes to go out with us. Mutual trust is slowly being built and strengthened. We are happy about this and will continue with the slow, kind approach... Those interested in the old and not completely friendly sharpey should not be discouraged, but we never know what chance may bring someone who can handle Cooper... We will hope.

Budeme doufat.

About Cooper

What life with Cooper looks like

Cooper is a medium-sized senior dog waiting at Útulek Zlín-Vršava in Zlín-Zlín 12.

Senior dogs settle in faster than younger ones. They want a soft bed, predictable meals, and short, sniff-heavy walks rather than runs. Many senior rescues bond deeply within weeks because they understand exactly how good a stable home is. Expect occasional vet visits for joint or dental care.

Frequently asked

Adopting Cooper, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Cooper?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Útulek Zlín-Vršava handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Cooper on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Cooper if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Útulek Zlín-Vršava will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Cooper already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Cooper isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Útulek Zlín-Vršava early rather than rehoming privately; they know Cooper and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (CS). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
