Copilu

Husky · Male · Adult · 6 years

Copilu is a true good-mood dog – playful, clever, energetic, and with a heart at least as big as his love for life. For us, it’s completely incomprehensible how such a special dog hasn’t found a home yet. While many other dogs have come and gone, Copilu still waits to be seen. The friendly male dog approaches all people openly and warmly – whether big or small. He loves attention and closeness above all else and savors every pat. Especially sweet: When being brushed, he sometimes even lies on his back, because he loves being in the center of attention and pampered. Copilu lived once in a Romanian children’s home, where he got to know a lot of hustle and bustle and human closeness. Perhaps that’s why he’s such an empathetic, cheerful dog who immediately makes people smile with his loving nature. He shows himself to be gentle, open, and friendly – also towards children. In the animal shelter, Copilu lives together with a female dog in the yard, with whom he gets along famously. The two love to run together in the run and play with each other. His yardmate Una and he seem almost like an old couple. A shared home would be beautiful, but of course, it’s not a must. Copilu is also social and uncomplicated with other dogs and even cats. Copilu is the perfect mix of cuddly bear, clown, and adventure lover. He loves movement, shared activities, and wants to discover the world. That’s why we wish for him an active family or sporty people who enjoy spending a lot of time with their dog – whether on long walks, hikes, playing, or attending dog training classes. Copilu is intelligent, eager to learn, and enthusiastic about his cheerful nature. A loving home, a foster home, or a foster home with an option for adoption – with heart, humor, and a love for adventure – is sought. A house with a securely fenced garden where Copilu can run freely would be ideal. He is neutered, vaccinated, microchipped, dewormed/treated for fleas, and has an EU passport. Contact us – maybe Copilu is exactly waiting for you. We will take care of processing your application as soon as possible!

DE·Show original

About Copilu

What life with Copilu looks like

Copilu is a small adult husky dog waiting at Arme Hundeseelen in Năsăud.

An adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. Two reasonable walks a day plus play time is usually enough. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

🇷🇴Adopting from Romania

Romanian rescues handle the highest volume of cross-border adoptions in the EU. Animals are quarantined and fully vetted before transport. Reputable rescues maintain detailed health records and post-adoption follow-up.

Frequently asked

Adopting Copilu, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Copilu?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Arme Hundeseelen handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Copilu on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Copilu if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Arme Hundeseelen will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Copilu already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Copilu isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Arme Hundeseelen early rather than rehoming privately; they know Copilu and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
