Cora

Mixed Breed Cat · Female · Young · 1 year

Cora is a lovely girl with plenty of sass, class and personality! She is an independent little lady who is still finding her paws when it comes to trusting new people. At the moment, Cora can be a little shy and will need a patient adopter who understands that she may take some time to settle in and feel comfortable. Once she realises she is safe, we believe her confidence will continue to grow. She is already showing progress and is beginning to accept gentle strokes when approached calmly and at her own pace.Cora is looking for a quiet, understanding home where she can settle in gradually and build a trusting relationship with her new family. She would suit someone who is happy to let her come to them rather than expecting instant cuddles and attention.Cora may be able to live with another friendly cat, and potentially a calm, cat-friendly dog, following careful introductions. Once settled into her new home, she would also love the opportunity to safely explore the great outdoors. If you have a little patience, a calm home and room in your heart for a girl with a big personality, Cora could be the perfect companion for you. Give her the time she needs, and you may just find yourself with a wonderfully rewarding feline friend!

About Cora

What life with Cora looks like

Cora is a large young adult mixed breed cat cat waiting at RSPCA Cornwall Branch in Saint Columb.

An adult cat usually shows their personality within a week. Give them a quiet room with everything they need (food, water, litter, hiding spot) and let them choose when to explore. Don't force interaction — every cat decides for themselves when a new home counts as home.

🇬🇧Adopting from United Kingdom

UK shelters work under the Pet Travel Scheme (post-Brexit, the EU pet passport is not valid; a UK Animal Health Certificate is required for travel into the EU). Most UK rescues focus on domestic placements but some work with EU partners.

Frequently asked

Adopting Cora, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Cora?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. RSPCA Cornwall Branch handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Cora on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Cora if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — RSPCA Cornwall Branch will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. UK adopters: post-Brexit travel into the EU requires an Animal Health Certificate. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Cora already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most cats on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Cora isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with RSPCA Cornwall Branch early rather than rehoming privately; they know Cora and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (EN). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
