adoption requirements adoption process Now request this animal! adoption requirements adoption process Now request this dog! Cora has found her home! Her story: Cora currently lives in a foster home and is waiting there for her very own home. The approximately 3-year-old female dog is exceptionally friendly, people-oriented, and very clingy. She seeks the company of her trusted people, enjoys cuddles, and would like to be there all the time. In everyday life, Cora is pleasant to handle. She already runs well on a leash and reliably orientates herself to her person. She is attentive, cooperative, and brings a good willingness to learn – excellent prerequisites to work further on small insecurities together. Encounters with larger dogs currently unsettle Cora. In such situations, she reacts fearfully, squeaking or yelping. This behavior is clearly fear-based and not aggressive. It is likely that she had a negative experience in the past, possibly through a bite. With patience, targeted training, and positive, well-guided dog encounters, Cora can continue to gain security. Early progress shows that she is approachable and wants to develop. In the home environment, Cora shows her particularly affectionate side. She is cuddly, seeks closeness, and bonds closely with her people. At the same time, she is currently still a bit jealous when other dogs receive attention – clear, calm guidance and time to further establish trust and security will help here. Cora is house-trained, runs up and down stairs without problems, and gets along well in everyday life. She still needs to learn to be alone. Due to a lack of movement in her earlier life, she is currently a bit overweight, which can be regulated well with adapted movement and good nutrition. The pretty female dog is about 45 cm tall and is distinguished by her white-beige-gray fur and her warm, amber-colored eyes. Her previous life was not easy: She spent a long time on a chain and lost everything she knew after her owner's death. It is all the more remarkable how open and affectionate she is today. Cora has a shortened tail and cannot be rehomed to Switzerland. For Cora, we wish people with empathy, patience, and joy in giving a sensitive female dog security and gently guiding her into life. She brings a very good basis for that – and the great need to finally arrive. Cora draws after positive Cora who will give her the great happiness? Thank you very much to Andrea M. Thanks to you, Cora has an identity! As of: 14.02. This animal can be anxious in unfamiliar situations. This animal is vaccinated. This animal is microchipped.

Vermittlungsvoraussetzungen Vermittlungsablauf Jetzt dieses Tier anfragen! Vermittlungsvoraussetzungen Vermittlungsablauf Jetzt diesen Hund anfragen! Lieben Dank an Andrea M.. Dank dir hat Cora eine Identität bekommen! Stand: 14.02.2026

About Cora

What life with Cora looks like

Cora is a medium-sized young adult mixed breed dog waiting at Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. in München.

An young adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. Two reasonable walks a day plus play time is usually enough. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting Cora, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Cora?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Cora on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Cora if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Cora already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Cora isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. early rather than rehoming privately; they know Cora and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
