Adopt Coralee (vermittelt)

Mixed Breed · Female · Young · 2 years

Name Coralee Born around 2022 Gender female dog Breed mixed breed Size approximately 48 cm and 17 kg foster home Coralee has found a wonderful foster home in the Wuppertal area and is welcome to be visited there. The ages given here are often estimates, as we don't always know the exact age. Other details like size are subjective. Looking for a home for Coralee, Border Collie-(mix?)-female dog, 2 years old (estimated), shoulder height of approximately 48 cm, weight of nearly 17 kg, vaccinated, microchipped, neutered, and tested for Mediterranean diseases. Since living on a foster home for about four weeks, the beauty has learned everything needed for a full dog life: she gets along with two- and four-legged creatures, is house-trained, and doesn't break anything, behaves politely on the leash, and rides nicely in the car box (even though she still gets carsick). She explores her environment agilely, wants to play, run, dig, and learns quickly. With people she trusts, she is cuddly and behaves calmly at the vet, grooming, and other activities. From the shelter time, she still has a fear of strangers and sudden approaches. This will take some time. In the new home, there can be environmentally safe, playful fellow animals and other pets. Children should be mature enough not to scare her. The pretty female dog lives in a large Romanian animal shelter at the moment and shares a small pen with many other dogs. We know nothing about her history and she can't tell us what she has experienced. What is certain is that she had little human contact… The shelter staff describe her after a brief visit to the pen as follows: The wonderful CAROLEE was unfortunately very insecure in our presence and avoided us. She only took treats from the ground. When we pressed her in the hut, however, we could handle her well. She did not show any defensive behavior. CAROLEE needs very experienced people who are familiar with handling insecure dogs and are patient, loving, and consistent with her. We are looking for people who are willing to take on the adventure of an international dog and give him a second chance at a responsible home. About Coralee (vermittelt)

What life with Coralee (vermittelt) looks like

Coralee (vermittelt) is a small young adult mixed breed dog waiting at Tierschutzverein Second Chance Dogs e.V. in Zornheim.

An young adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. Two reasonable walks a day plus play time is usually enough. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting Coralee (vermittelt), answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Coralee (vermittelt)?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Tierschutzverein Second Chance Dogs e.V. handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Coralee (vermittelt) on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Coralee (vermittelt) if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Tierschutzverein Second Chance Dogs e.V. will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Coralee (vermittelt) already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Coralee (vermittelt) isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Tierschutzverein Second Chance Dogs e.V. early rather than rehoming privately; they know Coralee (vermittelt) and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
