Coretta

Mixed Breed · Unknown · Young · 1 year

adoption requirements adoption process Now request this animal!Coretta has found her home! Her story: The little sweet Coretta is ready for a new start. With her fluffy, tri-colored coat, she is simply irresistible. Coretta once belonged to a family, if one can call it that. Unneutered and vulnerable, the delicate female dog was on the go, between large dogs, cars, and children. Despite "home," she was always found outside. The puppies born from this irresponsibility were also left to their fate, and it is assumed that multiple litters were involved. Coretta is approximately 1.5 years old and only 25 cm tall. With that, she is definitely not made for the harsh and unforgiving life on the streets. The sweet mouse is incredibly friendly and still open to people, despite not having experienced love in her young life. Due to her past, Coretta still needs to learn how life in a household works. Going for a walk on a leash, house training, and many other things are still unknown to the little mouse. A visit to a positively working dog training class could therefore be a great opportunity to build a foundation together and grow as a team. Compatibility with others has not yet been tested with other dogs or cats. If you still have a warm spot on the couch and in your heart for Coretta, please contact us. Coretta travels microchipped, vaccinated, dewormed, and flea-treated. She brings her EU pet passport and would not miss the chance of a foster home. Many thanks, dear Ute! You have given Coretta a name and an identity. Status: 03.03.

Stand: 03.03.2026

About Coretta

What life with Coretta looks like

Coretta is a large young adult mixed breed dog waiting at Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. in München.

An young adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. A larger dog like this one needs daily off-leash time when possible — a fenced yard or regular access to safe walking trails. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting Coretta, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Coretta?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Coretta on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Coretta if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Coretta already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Coretta isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. early rather than rehoming privately; they know Coretta and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
