adoption requirements adoption process Now request this animal! adoption requirements adoption process Now request this dog! Cory could putzmunter set out on the search for his own family, but it wouldn’t have been a given. Very likely, he would have ended up alone somewhere in a ditch, never having experienced the love and security of a home. Cory was found and brought to our vet. For a rusty chain had embedded itself deeply in his neck and back. While the external wounds have healed, the invisible injuries still need some time to ensure they remain in the past. Cory likes to be stroked, but he doesn’t like touches on his neck and back. He communicates this with a growl, setting a good example. The approximately 10-year-old Cory is a sweet little guy, about 45 cm and 17 kg. He just needs a little time to thaw out. At first a bit reserved, he has already formed a friendship with his caretakers and enjoys their attention. Cory shows more and more his playful and curious side, and we are sure that he will make even faster progress in a loving home. Life in a home is still quite foreign to him, so he will also have to learn the rules that come with living in a home. Fortunately, he is not a picky eater and can be easily motivated with yummy snacks. Cory is compatible with other dogs, opening up the possibility of a confident and social first dog in his future home. Of course, this is not a must. A foster home would also be a great opportunity for Cory. Cory can be neutered, microchipped, vaccinated, dewormed, and treated for fleas with an EU-pet passport to travel to his new home. He will travel after a positive health check. Do you want to show Cory how wonderful dog life can be and that there are people who mean well by him? Then we are very happy to hear from you. Thank you, dear Claudia H., for your name sponsorship. Thanks to you, Cory finally has an identity and the chance for a worry-free future. As of: 20.04.

Vermittlungsvoraussetzungen Vermittlungsablauf Jetzt dieses Tier anfragen! Vermittlungsvoraussetzungen Vermittlungsablauf Jetzt diesen Hund anfragen! About Cory

What life with Cory looks like

Cory is a medium-sized senior mixed breed dog waiting at Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. in München.

Senior dogs settle in faster than younger ones. They want a soft bed, predictable meals, and short, sniff-heavy walks rather than runs. Many senior rescues bond deeply within weeks because they understand exactly how good a stable home is. Expect occasional vet visits for joint or dental care.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting Cory, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Cory?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Cory on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Cory if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Cory already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Cory isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. early rather than rehoming privately; they know Cory and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
