Cosmo - time to write a new chapter in his story Cosmo came to our care from the Gmina Wieliszew area, after the death of his beloved caregiver. Suddenly, he lost not only the person he knew and loved, but also his entire world. The beginning in the shelter was not easy for him. A new place, new smells and a completely different daily routine made him need some time to adjust to this change. We gave him what he needed most at that time - peace, patience and a sense of security. With each passing day, Cosmo opened up more to the new reality. Today, he is calmer, has found his rhythm and we can say he is ready to take the next step - straight to his own home. We believe that many beautiful moments are still ahead of him. That somewhere a person is waiting for him, who will show him that losing one home does not mean the end of the world, but sometimes can be the beginning of a completely new, good story. Cosmo lost his human, but he did not lose hope. Now he needs someone who will give him security, care and a place that will be his own. Someone who will let him feel that he is important, loved and needed again. Maybe you will be his new beginning? DON'T BUY - ADOPT! A DOG WHO ENTERS OUR SHELTER IS COVERED BY A 14-DAY QUARANTINE. If he is not picked up by the owner during this time, the dog will be: vaccinated, chipped, neutered and we will look for a new caregiver for him. The condition for adoption is to fill out the questionnaire available on our website, agree to a pre/post-adoption visit, sign an adoption contract. My daliśmy mu przede wszystkim to, czego wtedy najbardziej potrzebował – spokój, cierpliwość i poczucie bezpieczeństwa. About Cosmo

What life with Cosmo looks like

Cosmo is a medium-sized puppy mixed breed dog waiting at Fundacja Puszatek in Warszawa.

Puppies need routine, gentle socialization, and roughly two short outings a day for the first year. The first six months are the formative window — house-training, leash work, and quiet exposure to traffic, other dogs, and unfamiliar people happen now or not at all. Expect early-morning wake-ups and a few months of chewing.

🇵🇱Adopting from Poland

Polish shelters maintain established transport routes to Germany, Netherlands, Austria, and Sweden. Animals leave sterilized and chipped. Adopters usually cover transport.

Frequently asked

Adopting Cosmo, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Cosmo?: Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Fundacja Puszatek handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Cosmo on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Cosmo if I live in another country?: Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Fundacja Puszatek will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Transport is usually a separate cost, so ask for the exact figure before you commit.
Is Cosmo already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?: Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Cosmo isn't the right fit?: Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Fundacja Puszatek early rather than rehoming privately; they know Cosmo and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?: TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (PL). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
