couly

Border Collie · Male · Puppy · 4 months

Couly is a mixed-breed border collie puppy who arrived from Martinique. Sociable, playful, affectionate and happy, he enjoys human company and explores his new environment with curiosity. Couly has much to learn. His socialization will need to be continued and his education should be done using positive methods, with patience, consistency and kindness. Learning cleanliness, walking on a leash, recall and living rules will take time and daily investment. Couly is looking for a family who understands the needs of a puppy and is willing to support him through all stages of development. A house with an enclosed garden is preferred. Active or sporty owners would be a real asset in meeting his physical and mental exercise needs once he's grown up. In return, Couly will offer you all his affection and become a loyal, joyful and loving companion for life.

Couly est un chiot croisé border collie, arrivé de Martinique. Sociable, joueur, affectueux et bien dans ses pattes, il apprécie la compagnie des humains et découvre son nouvel environnement avec curiosité. Couly a beaucoup à apprendre.

About couly

What life with couly looks like

couly is a puppy/kitten border collie dog waiting at SPA Inzinzac-Lochrist in Inzinzac.

Puppies need routine, gentle socialization, and roughly two short outings a day for the first year. The first six months are the formative window — house-training, leash work, and quiet exposure to traffic, other dogs, and unfamiliar people happen now or not at all. Expect early-morning wake-ups and a few months of chewing.

🇫🇷Adopting from France

French refuges follow the SPA framework: adopters sign a cession contract that includes sterilization, vaccinations, microchip identification, and rabies passport. Fees are typically €150–€300. Many refuges work with rescue transport partners for cross-border placements.

Frequently asked

Adopting couly, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about couly?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. SPA Inzinzac-Lochrist handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw couly on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt couly if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — SPA Inzinzac-Lochrist will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is couly already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if couly isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with SPA Inzinzac-Lochrist early rather than rehoming privately; they know couly and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (FR). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
