Adopt Coureur

European Shorthair · Male · Adult · 7 years

My story: Here is Coureur, he was taken in through a free-roaming cat agreement. He was trapped for the first time two years ago during a spaying/neutering campaign, wild at the time, he was identified and sterilized then released back to his neighborhood. A new good person appeared on his street this year, and surprise Coureur has been socialized by his feeders, we take him in so that we can find him an adoption. For the great happiness of those who made him social Coureur can now leave the street and find a real home where he will be cherished. My character: As quick as gentle, Coureur doesn't take long to melt our hearts. Coureur is a real clingy one: he purrs just at our presence, even in the transport crate where he remains very well-behaved. He is friendly towards people and doesn't hesitate to ask for plenty of cuddles. When he meows, he makes the little toad sound - a unique sound, just like him! He needs his "morning paste", this cuddly moment that has become a ritual. Regarding play, it's better to play with a fishing rod to channel his strength, but throwing a ball works just as well! He currently lives in an office where he shows himself very well-behaved: clean, calm, and without any damage. Likes / Dislikes: Coureur is not tested with cats, okay with calm dogs, and okay with children who are used to cats. Coureur is looking for the outdoors, a secure outdoor space such as a yard with high walls or a catio would be perfect for him.

About Coureur

What life with Coureur looks like

Coureur is a adult european shorthair cat waiting at APAA Trégrom in France.

An adult cat usually shows their personality within a week. Give them a quiet room with everything they need (food, water, litter, hiding spot) and let them choose when to explore. Don't force interaction — every cat decides for themselves when a new home counts as home.

🇫🇷Adopting from France

French refuges follow the SPA framework: adopters sign a cession contract that includes sterilization, vaccinations, microchip identification, and rabies passport. Fees are typically €150–€300. Many refuges work with rescue transport partners for cross-border placements.

Frequently asked

Adopting Coureur, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Coureur?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. APAA Trégrom handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Coureur on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Coureur if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — APAA Trégrom will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Coureur already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most cats on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Coureur isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with APAA Trégrom early rather than rehoming privately; they know Coureur and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (FR). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
