adoption requirements adoption process Now adopt this animal! adoption requirements adoption process Crispy has found her home! Her story: Crispy was found together with her sister on the streets of Romania and was brought to safety in a foster home. The two little sisters were very thin. However, both had great luck and could travel to Germany to a foster home. Crispy reminds with her rough coat of a Border Terrier; she is about 2 years old. She has a practical size with around 40 cm and 8 kg, so she can be taken everywhere without any problems. Despite her slender figure, she is an active dog that can be taken on many walks outdoors and can participate in sporting activities. At the moment, the little mouse is still a bit shy; she has certainly not had much pleasant experiences on the streets. She has already attached herself closely to her foster parent after just a few days and shows herself to be very cuddly. She is still a bit afraid of men. She is very social with dogs and also gets along well with the cats in the foster home. From the first day, she is house-trained and bravely integrates into the new everyday life, mastering new situations like car rides and going for a walk with a horse. Who would like to have an attached and lively little companion? Crispy would also be suitable for beginners in dog ownership. With a little patience and time, a lively Terrier mix will emerge after the adjustment period. Her rough coat is very easy to care for. She will be neutered, vaccinated, microchipped, and dewormed before being rehomed to her new family, and she also has an EU pet passport. She is only available for adoption for 500 Euros. Thank you to Ute P. for the spontaneous naming and the great foster home you provided for the mouse. As of: 07.03.

Stand: 07.03.2025

About Crispy

What life with Crispy looks like

Crispy is a medium-sized young adult mixed breed dog waiting at Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. in München.

An young adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. Two reasonable walks a day plus play time is usually enough. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting Crispy, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Crispy?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Crispy on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Crispy if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Crispy already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Crispy isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. early rather than rehoming privately; they know Crispy and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
